Oh Snap 01-24-2023 12:20 PM

What the hell happened to Mecole Hardman?!

Did he have a hernia or something? He had stomach issues and was placed on IR. Anyone hear of any updates on him?

Eleazar 01-24-2023 12:22 PM

He's injured.

BWillie 01-24-2023 12:22 PM

who cares

toney > soft man... i mean hard man

TribalElder 01-24-2023 12:23 PM

compensatory pick

free agent

Rain Man 01-24-2023 12:23 PM

He took a hit that rearranged his intestines to the point where he can only eat while doing cartwheels. It's tragic, really.

stevieray 01-24-2023 12:28 PM

Who?

wazu 01-24-2023 12:30 PM

After the 2022 season he signed on to be the 4th WR for the Texans and was cut mid-way through the 2023 season after playing some special teams.

Yeah, it would be nice to get him back for this stretch run. Toney has taken his spot, but both of them would be nice.

His speed could really help a less mobile Pat this week. Hopefully hes not being a soft pussy and is ready to play.

If it was a sports hernia then it’s a different story, as it’s an actual tear or damage to the muscle, but an actual hernia shouldn’t have had this long of a recovery time, speaking from experience. Leads me to believe it was a sports hernia or something similar, especially with how Reid mentioned how it hasn’t been responding as expected. With a normal hernia, either it’s repaired or it isn’t. I’m guessing he’s still experiencing pain in his abdomen.

Dante84 01-24-2023 01:57 PM

I actually recently heard an update from someone who knows him; apparently its a hip issue.

I was told he's definitely out this weekend, and the SB is a "maybe" if we're in it.

Jewish Rabbi 01-24-2023 02:03 PM

Good luck on the Texans next year Mecole.

Problem is, he has to stay close to a restroom.

jjchieffan 01-24-2023 03:21 PM

I would say that this has cost him some money. He was playing better this year and someone would have probably paid him more than the Chiefs would have in free agency. Now I expect the Chiefs to bring him back on a cheap one year deal similar to what they did with Robinson when his rookie contract was up

Jerok 01-24-2023 03:26 PM

Imagine Mahomes on the field and Mecole Hardman is on the sidelines during the AFCCG. He won't want to show his face in KC again.

Vladimir_Kyrilytch 01-24-2023 03:31 PM

I suspect that he is transitioning and got the big snip-snip surgery. Groin issue, they say.

Hardman needs to get out there and play.

I don't think so. If his playing at 70% takes away one single snao from Toney, he should not play.

I'd rather have Hardman at 70% than Moore/Watson.

Even if he can't finish out the season I hope he comes back next year and **** the haters.

I think he's fun to watch and can get a home run any time he touches the ball.

I also wouldn't want to play against him and get burnt.

I worry he'll be confirmed a zombie like Hamlin

Chief Roundup 01-24-2023 08:05 PM

Andy said he injured his Pelvis and that the muscles had a setback, but that he was continuing to improve and that they would take it slow with him. Evidently, he had also lost weight that they are trying to get back.

Molitoth 01-24-2023 09:23 PM

Toney had 20 snaps last game, so I don't think he'd be the one losing any snaps.

Yep. I never liked the pick and the early returns are not all that good. However, there often is a huge jump from year 1 to year 2, so maybe he'll pick it up next year. Its still early yet in his career.

Yeah no shit. Jags punted and downed at the 2, which led to Chad Henne driving our KC Chiefs to a 98 yd TD. I'll take my chances.

Mecole Hardman, in the cold, after a long break where he's rushing to get back to return punts is a recipe for disaster.

CoMoChief 01-25-2023 08:00 PM

If he was a more reliable pass catcher I'd probably care a little bit more about his absence.

He's a fine gadget player, not saying he can't be effective and he has speed you can't coach...I just wish he had better hands and was capable of being a consistent #2WR, which I don't think he's able to be that guy.

Hardman probably saw the writing on the wall the moment Toney was dealt here.

He looks clueless on the jet sweeps. It's like he isn't sure when to cut up field, and isn't sure exactly how to follow his blockers. And he doesn't seem to have any sort of moves to elude tacklers.

And that isn't surprising considering he seems to struggle with the playbook and running the correct routes.

oldman 01-25-2023 11:55 PM

I'm a little disappointed with Moore's progress, but he's from a non-NFL football factory. Let's give him the off season to fully digest the playbook. Hardman is one of those guys that people remember as better than what he is when he's not playing. After 4 years he still doesn't run a consistent route. His hands aren't anything exceptional either.

Rainbarrel 01-26-2023 03:11 AM

KC drafting WRs is not Denver bad at drafting QBs. Not far off though so hopes should not be anything outrageous

I don't care about the big picture right now. In a singular game, Hardman can be a BIG boost to the offense. Especially with Toney in the fold.

Hell, even if they just sent him and MVS on deep routes, that's gonna clear a TON of room for Kelce, Juju and Toney underneath.

I'm ****ing excited to have him back, and I'm no Hardman fanboy by a long shot.

TwistedChief 01-26-2023 06:58 AM

You guys forgetting that he hit Hardman for 44yds on a go route in the last AFCCG?

Wouldn’t mind seeing something like that to him instead of Watson. Or at a minimum have another speed guy beside MVS to keep the Bengals honest.

Sassy Squatch 01-26-2023 07:03 AM

Still LP afaik. I do wonder if they'll actually have him run those gimmick plays considering he'll be absorbing a ton of contact on those or if they'll try for more downfield plays only.

Not gonna lie, I wanna see Watson. I want people to see the players Mahomes is throwing too. Like, “damn Mahomes is really going to win by throwing to somebody named Justin Watson?!?!”

Sunday may be his last game in a Chiefs uniform. I don't know why we'd give a shit about him absorbing contact at this point.

This is a false narrative

2019 41 target 1 drop

2020 62 target 8 drop

2021 83 target 2 drop

2022 34 target 1 drop.

2020 didn't do him any favors maybe that's where you perceive he isn't reliable but he has come in clutch for us time and again. Look at the pass in back of the endzone agains the Saints it doesn't get more clutch than that. Now go look how many drops Tyreek has had.
