Lamar Jackson's "cartwheel"....

Why wasn't that flagged????

TLO 09-20-2021 10:09 AM

Because we are the Chiefs

Fishpicker 09-20-2021 10:10 AM

because no one was near him

crayzkirk 09-20-2021 10:10 AM

Because it wasn't directed at a single player...

burt 09-20-2021 10:13 AM

So....someone has to be "near" taunting? Or it has to be directed at one player???

UK_Chief 09-20-2021 10:15 AM

If a tree taunts in the woods and there is no one to hear it, was it really taunting?

Flying High D 09-20-2021 10:15 AM

He’s already missing a chromosome, they didn’t want to pile on.

lcarus 09-20-2021 10:16 AM

They let the Ravens get away with a couple pretty crucial false starts. The Chiefs got away with some as well. I've seen it in other games as well. I don't know if they had a rules conference and decided to be less stringent on false starts?

They easily could've called PI on the 3rd down pass to Tyreek too. I mean if they're gonna call 2 illegal contact penalties on Mathieu where he barely touched the guy after 5 yards. I feel like they kinda called the game based on what the Ravens needed at the time to come back and make it a "nail biter". Kind of what everyone expected from Clete Blakeman and his crew of corruption.

Nobody actually knows the rules anymore. They are subjective are/aren't called for unknown reasons that are never explained.

So if Reek would have backflipped last week would have been no flag?

Hammock Parties 09-20-2021 10:24 AM

dude is going to break something one day

Deberg_1990 09-20-2021 10:26 AM

It wasn’t taunting. More celebration

Pretty dumb though. He could have hurt himself. I thought he landed pretty hard.

comochiefsfan 09-20-2021 10:26 AM

Who cares?

Wouldn't have changed the fact that Andy was going to go conservative and Clyde was going to fumble the game away.

Flying High D 09-20-2021 10:28 AM

Wish Jackson would of splashed water on him.

KChiefs1 09-20-2021 12:40 PM

Wasn’t taunting.

Taunting is directed, celebration is generalized.

You can express 'I love how awesome I am' not 'I am better than you [person in front of me].'

DaFace 09-20-2021 01:03 PM

They never flagged Tyreek for his backflips, so not sure why Lamar would have been flagged. Yes, I know taunting is a point of emphasis, but I don't think I've seen anything to suggest that a backflip would be considered taunting.

Not to go full Op, but that's how they "steer" games.

The fact that Ray Lewis the convict was there to pump up those ****ing morons was a dark omen for the night.

According to the league the back flip he did was the main reason they implemented it this year. If it’s a rule it needs to be uniform and not just eh call it when we feel like it.

Should have taken Will Shields to bloody his nose again.

ThyKingdomCome15 09-20-2021 04:09 PM

It's only taunting if Tyreek does it.

louie aguiar 09-20-2021 04:18 PM

Sure, but they specifically pointed out to the "deuces" toward another player. If he gets called for a backflip this year, we have a gripe, but until then we're just making assumptions on what they will and won't call.

Bump 09-20-2021 04:48 PM

the bigger question is, why was HB flagged on that play Ward got a sack?

Clete is in the bag. No other reason makes any sense. Fool called HB twice for putting his hand on a receiver. Never mind he didn't slow the guy down, or impede his progress. Or try to steer him. He simply made contact (something EVERY DAMNED DB DOES ALL THE TIME IN EVERY GAME).

Notice he didn't call that penalty against BAL. Clete calls a biased game vs. the Chiefs every time. We just have to bite the bullet and wait until that sad sack of shit finally retires.

You realize that the ref isn't responsible for down field calls, right?

Dartgod 09-20-2021 06:54 PM

There were missed/incorrect calls on both sides. Officiating had no effect on the outcome of the game.

Iirc they can. And maybe 🤔 mis-saw the play, but we m pretty sure clete threw the flag on n the first one.

Regardless, clete and/or his crew regularly ****s up calls where the chiefs are concerned. It’s happened often enough now that even I am willing to call BS.

Believe what you want.

R8RFAN 09-20-2021 07:41 PM

dumb move to risk it when your bread and butter is being a runner. He actually broke the plane of the goal line with the flip and you can go across the line anyway you want as long as you are not running backwards taunting a player you just smoked.

SuperBowl4 09-20-2021 07:45 PM

He should have been flagged 4 not grabbing his crotch

stop being a sore loser...he deserved to do it..
if u are that far from a defender that u can do a flip..go for it. . (although it wouldve been nice if he shattered his hip on the landing)

if our defense wasnt such touch butt p**ssies he wouldnt have been able to do that

And this is why I questioned it. Taunting, celebrating, etc., doesn't bother me. Giving the refs subjectivity does. Zebras don't need more tools to control the games outcome.

poolboy 09-21-2021 09:33 AM

I get the taunting rule, but how the hell can you enforce it fairly and uniformly

This captures it for me. Lamar could have handed Spags the game ball for all I care.

I wanted to see an involuntary cartwheel all night long. I'll love it when this guy finally gets a good sticking from a defensive player. We tackle like we're tucking people in at night.

I'm no sore loser. But Cheetah gets flagged for flashing a peace sign? Wait til he flips over the goal line and gets flagged for 15! I'm okay with Lamar cartwheeling.....but that means Cheetah can also..... Wait for it......wait for it.... I'll be back to say "told ya so".

Is he just trolling by saying that it was from the flip? Basically, just rubbing it in more that he scored the game winning touchdown and he’s just getting a day off.

Or is he dumb enough to admit it was from the flip?

Tyreek pissed me off every time he would backflip in. A completely unnecessary risk.

I said it in the game thread when it happened - Lamar Jackson is dumb. He landed awkwardly for sure and it’s entirely possible he injured himself.

The guy isn’t going to last forever. He also stayed in bounds a few times and put his head down. He’s going to break himself.

A running back has to have an attitude/feeling that they are invincible in order to be successful. The belief that you are always quicker than the guy in front of you, and that when contact happens you are the one bringing it. Lamar has that, and it makes him very successful in this role. If Lamar drops that attitude and tries to become a more traditional QB, he won't be nearly as effective, so even though it comes at an inevitable cost it is probably best for him and the Ravens for now. What won't be best for the Ravens is signing him to a 10 year extension.

Deberg_1990 09-24-2021 11:33 AM
