Should the Chiefs attempt to re-sign Kareem Hunt in the offseason?
Running Back is absolutely killing us right now.
Guys can’t hold on to the ball, we can’t get anything going on the ground, and we don’t have a back with the physicality to finish games. There is an elite running back out there right now, who at the end of this season will only have 7 more games of tread on the tires since when he last played for us. He’s familiar with the offense, and can likely be had for cheap due to off the field risks. Everyone of course knows who I’m talking about. Should Clark swallow his pride and bring back Kareem? Or do we continue to allow Damian and Shady to literally cough up games? I’ll hang up & listen. |
They won't but something does need to be done about the RB position. Williams and McCoy both need to go after this year.
|
|
No
|
Only if he promises not to lie.
|
What about that little hulkamaniac dude, Thompson...is he any good?
|
He’s a EFA but I would in a heartbeat
|
Or we could look at some dudes like
De'Andre Swift Travis Etienne Johnathan Taylor Good RB year. |
His drinking I know hurt at least one person. Anybody else besides me?
|
I'd sign him in a NY minute
|
That ship has sailed. If the Chiefs resign Hunt then the entire position of "he lied to us, no respect" flies out the window. The organization just looks like they were trying to avoid bad press. They were, but they can't admit it by signing him after calling him out.

Has anybody considered the possibility of cloning an Elite Back from time gone by?
If we could clone somebody like Bo Jackson or Barry Sanders, perhaps we could harness some type of human growth accelerant and quickly age them into their early 20's? Clark is a bilionaire, so we have the financial means to research this idea, which is about as logical as yours. |
If he is really good in the next 7 games left, I don't think we will want to spend what he will bring in FA...
|
Cut Sammy give his money to Hunt

They specifically said he will never play for this organization again.
|
They won't so it doesn't matter.
I'd be fairly interested if he could be had for a mil or so. But this **** is going to do it again. It's just a matter of time. |
CLARK HUNT WILL NOT ALLOW IT...EVER!!! He lied to him. Not gonna happen.
Now LeVeon Bell.... |
This thread really shows which posters are living in the real world and which ones are Baby's First Football Fandom
Zero chance he ever plays here again for a multitude of reasons. |

it won't happen
Chiefs owner will not allow Kareem back since he lied |
I’m all for a Le’Veon Bell
|
Keep drafting running backs is my opinion. No need to bring in an expensive Bell when you could just find one in the draft which happens anywhere.
And maybe, I don't know, see what we have in Darwin. |
No RB will succeed without a solid OL.
Need to build from the trenches first. |

I just dont think that guy has any desire other than to make more money. His "run hard/give up my body for the team/game" days are behind him. Just like Larry Johnson......once he got paid, never ran as hard ever again. |

Move on guys it isn't happening. |
if Andy wants him, he'll get him
Clark is Andy's foot-shuffling porter |
DeBerg? Is that you?

Absolutely they should consider bringing back Hunt.
Cosidering the fact he served his penalty and is been given a second chance. Besides the Chiefs have come nowhere near replacing him. As for lying to Clark Hunt, well Reid lies to everybody after he repeatedly screws up, by saying "We'll fix this and fix that" and never does and never has. |
Now that's an idea someone should kick around!
|
No. You don't sign him he lied. You sign him is saying it not cool to lie but wait a few month and we'll hire you back.

He wasn't getting an extension here without the drama. Some people seriously think he's getting big money here after all that shit?
|
Kick the tires
|
He's even had incidents since he got to Cleveland.
I understand wanting our running game to be better but that's like saying maybe the Chiefs should reach out and bring McCaffrey in for a look. Like, as long as we're dreaming. |

Melvin Gordon is an RFA next season, right?
|
I think there will be a new RB in KC next season, but his name will not be Kareem Hunt. He's done here.
|
Get Bam Morris on the horn while we're at it.
|
And why don't you people think Dorsey will extend him if he's productive????
|
Yes, they will.
The headline will read “Hunt pinky swears to never lie again.” |

it will probably be someone like David Johnson

But Taylor might make it to us in the 2nd. Dobbins and Akers are interesting guys but tough reads for opposite reasons. OSU is just rolling over teams so it's hard to say if Dobbins is as good as his results. Skillset wise, Dobbins seems perfect but he just may not be as good as he seems to be. Akers, OTOH, is playing for a trash FSU team and maybe that pushes his stock down some. I think the kid's an NFL talent with 3-down ability but it's hard to get a great feel for him. That's probably a guy I'd keep an eye on. You're right though - seems like a TON of RBs w/ 2nd round sort of grades and that could push some down into the 3rd. Someone like maybe Ke'Shawn Vaughn? I think you'd have to jump in a hurry if he's there in the 3rd and shows more wiggle on tape than I typically think of him having. You have to hope someone jumps earlier on someone like Zack Moss who may not have the kind of agility you want to see in this offense and frees up someone to slide down a bit. Hubbard could be a slide candidate as well. I'd be shocked if we don't have 2 new RBs next year, 1 of whom we take on the 2nd day. This shit can't stand next year. |

He's an ERFA next year so Cleveland won't lose him for nothing. But he'll maybe sign a 1-year deal to get into FA and start somewhere or they'll trade him. |

Why would we do that when we have a bunch of replacements that fumble all the time at crucial junctures in the game.

When will all you idiots GET THE **** OVER IT???? That ship has sailed. The owner wants nothing to do with him EVER again or he would not have been cut the way he was. This has been discussed ad nasium. You guys must be the type that won't let a women go that is horribly bad for you and also be the type that will stalk a women until your ass ends up and jail and then still will try again when you finally get released. |

The Chiefs seem to have legit interest in Bell.
Maybe he gets sick of losing in New York and agrees to restructure his contract to make a trade viable in the offseason. |

No god damn way the Chiefs should waste more draft capital on an overpriced player.
If they insist on a splash at RB, either draft Taylor in the 1st or sign Derrick Henry, even if he is a 2 down player. Can’t stop him? Sign him. |
