Props to Cam Erving

There were a lot of doubters including myself but he acquitted himself quite well. Nicely done.

MAHOMO 4 LIFE! 09-15-2019 05:27 PM

Is this a joke?

JimNasium 09-15-2019 05:28 PM

Yeah, I thought he held up well.

rabblerouser 09-15-2019 05:29 PM

He sucked ass.

LMAO

kcxiv 09-15-2019 05:31 PM

eh, he had very few bad plays, but overall he prevented the pass rusher from getting to mahomes for the most part. For a back up. ill take it.

Munson 09-15-2019 05:31 PM

He played like shit.

BossChief 09-15-2019 05:32 PM

What? He was horrible

TLO 09-15-2019 05:32 PM

:hmmm:

He didn't get Mahomes killed, so props for that.

Get well soon, Fisher.

Yep. He struggled early, but after that he was better than I expected.

Dunerdr 09-15-2019 05:37 PM

scratch trading for a corner lets trade for Washingtons disgruntled left tackle and just try to hang a fifty burger on everyone.

carcosa 09-15-2019 05:37 PM

As long as Mahomes is healthy, I'm a happy fella!!!

GermanChiefFan 09-15-2019 05:38 PM

Erving Played well today. I dont know what Kind of game some of you Guys watched... yes he had a bad Play at the beginning But in pass Protection he was really good, mahomes was barely touched today.

Chief Roundup 09-15-2019 05:40 PM

Haters gonna hate. He sure did look awful several times though.

chiefsfan15 09-15-2019 05:56 PM

an average Erving day. decent at times but with several awful plays and at least one penalty

Chiefs=Champions 09-15-2019 05:58 PM

People want perfection. The online as a whole pass blocked well today. Pat's style of play is going to lead to some hits and sacks.

keg in kc 09-15-2019 05:59 PM

We're in trouble if Fisher's hurt any significant amount of time.

Pasta Little Brioni 09-15-2019 06:00 PM

They threw for 442 and he was barely touched ROFL

Because the offense's output was so effected today...

BWillie 09-15-2019 06:07 PM

Yeah Erving was bad from what I could tell.

PHOG 09-15-2019 06:08 PM

378+442=820x8=6560 yds/year pace. :thumb:

Pretty sure it's the opposite. He's able to avoid hits and sacks that lesser quarterbacks can't.

Second quarter was awesome. The other three were brutal. So, yeah, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say the offense's output was affected.

wazu 09-15-2019 06:20 PM

Definitely exceeded my expectations after a rough start. Would prefer Fisher learn how not to pull his groin at a Friday practice going forward, though.

Surely you can tell that they changed the game plan in the second half...

He does. But he also extends plays forcing guys to block longer.

Easy 6 09-15-2019 06:25 PM

Fisher will hopefully tape an aspirin to his groin soon

Erving did acquit himself pretty well today... but we’ve seen this movie before, he will look like ass next week

They executed the same second half game plan last week against Jacksonville and it worked, for the most part. So I don't know that saying "the game plan changed" is a great justification for the offense's struggles after halftime today. At least not in the context of this discussion. Because my guess is that they'd have been able to run the ball with Fisher on the field. They clearly couldn't today, with Erving in. Which isn't to say he was solely responsible, but I don't think it's a great sign for the unit. Hopefully it goes better next Sunday after a full week of practice, if Fisher in fact exacerbated his injury today.

I think you are blowing any "struggles" waay out of proportion. They didn't need to score so they took the foot of the gas. The running game lacked, but that's an Oakland unit built to stop the run and they were playing a team several scores up.

Yup. To me, it looked like Andy knew that we had the game well in hand and decided just to keep the clock moving. It wasn't a complete shell, but we definitely weren't doing anything creative.

Exactly. I would prefer they play even more conservative 18 points up with 5 minutes to play. We don't need to be going deep to Kelce there. Its a long season.

Thank goodness Suggs is a Cardinal.

Mahomes wore out the Raider D with long drives.

Why Not? 09-15-2019 07:20 PM

pretty much this. He didn't get Mahomes killed, that's what matters most.

MightyMouse 09-15-2019 07:22 PM

He was pretty bad, the whole game from when I was paying attention. Andy’s play calling can make up for weak spots on the line. I’ll watch the all 22 and be able to judge better then

MAHOMO 4 LIFE! 09-15-2019 07:22 PM

Mahomes sucks. He threw for 10 TDs three 2 weeks last year. Only 7 this year

That is the way I saw it.

Andy and Gruden are buddies and its a business. Andy has taken his foot off the gas before. Gruden was running the ball mid way through the 4th and used none of his time outs.

Pitt Gorilla 09-15-2019 07:28 PM

Whatever he was, he looked better than reiter and Wylie.

I wouldn’t say horrible for the whole game. He started like Jack Black and finished like Jordan Black.

Willie Lanier 09-15-2019 08:56 PM

And I'm a very optimistic about the direction of this team, but Cam Erving just needs to be off the field as much as possible, preferably always

Tinker Dill 09-15-2019 08:58 PM

Fine by me with exception of his 1st play. Screw the rest of these guys.they are probably Canadians

I tried to watch a cfl game for the first time the other night. That was wildly confusing, and much like my sex life, lasted just a few minutes.

jjchieffan 09-16-2019 08:53 AM

I watched Chiefs Rewind, and listened to the locked on Chiefs podcast. Everyone, including Reid, was saying the same thing. Erving started out rough, but did fine for the rest of the game. One coach said that he run blocked once on a pass play.

tyton75 09-16-2019 09:29 AM

I think I would have preferred kicking Wylie out to tackle and putting Erving in at guard

I mentioned that on Friday when it came out that Fisher was hurt. We'll, actually, I think that I was in favor of putting Allen at Guard. But, I guess that the Chiefs preferred to leave the line as intact as possible instead of messing with a second spot. I get that. Continuity on the line is important.

MAHOMO 4 LIFE! 09-16-2019 01:57 PM

Can we please stop with saying our O line sucks. We are the third best O line when it comes to pass blocking

tatorhog 09-16-2019 02:01 PM

He didn't get Mahomes hurt, so credit to him for that. But the sooner we get our starter back on the field the better.

He's our Fitzpatrick. When it doesn't count, he'll give some serious flashes, but then usually craps the bed when left out there for too long.
