Guesses: Does Berry play Sunday?
And do you want him to?
|
Yes, without a doubt.
If he doesn’t, I’ll go leave forever. |

If you can't get up for the AFC title game, just schefule the damned surgery.

Would rather go without him.

I’ll go out on a limb and predict he’ll be day to day.
|
Berry can probably keep up with broken Gronk on one leg. Battle of the brokedicks!

Smart money is out.
|
Where’s the “day to day” option?
|
I have a hunch he might. If he does, he either has two weeks or an offseason to get ready for his next game.
|
Do we want him to? How ready can he be after playing so few snaps all year?
|
No, and don't care.

Maybe the old version of Eric Berry with spirit will finally return and replace the current lacking of spirit version...

Gronk so broken that Berry can probably shut him down by yelling from the sidelines.
But I think he'll play. |
Honestly I’m more concerned about whether DOD will play or not. He’d be our best matchup option against James White.
|
I don't think he will.
|
also don't think LDT will. Best case 2 games left. They'll not be playing, I don't think.
|
Yes he'll play. Yes I want him to. And he'll make an impact.
|
Zero percent, and I'm over it. We're at this point without him, so we'll keep rolling.

Yea I expect Berry to go also because really if he can't go now why is he playing? |

I don’t think it makes a huge difference, but if he can play and isn’t going to be a liability, I hope he does.

At this point Berry could be helpful playing that by the line safety spot he is a good run defender so if his speed is affected it won't be as big a deal there.
|
I picked no, but despite everything it would be ****ing badass if he played.

Eric Berry could at least cover Gronk, he's old and slow himself.
|
Eric Berry isn't going to play this week, but hes going to weasel his way into playing in the Super Bowl. This mother****er doesn't deserve to play. I'd rather have the young guys play then his worthless ass.
|
I hope not. I'm done with Berry. I was on his side all year until he didn't play today. No excuse. Get your ass out there.
|
One thing's for sure, a big performance and a Chiefs win would cancel out all the hate, the same way it has for Houston and the D in general. The way this season is going ... maybe that's what we're gonna get? We're up 28-26 and Brady is driving with a minute left, and Berry picks off a pass intended for Gronk to take us to the ship.

A guy who has quit or is too pussy to play doesn't do this

Watch Eric Berry furiously - and I mean FURIOUSLY - get the rest of his secondary lined up correctly on this play. It’s almost like, when he’s not on the field, they don’t know what they’re doing. pic.twitter.com/DHB7ajOkI4
— Nate Bukaty (@nate_bukaty) December 14, 2018
 |
Sorensen is starting to come around as well. I do like Lucas back there. Can he keep up with Gronk tho idk
|
Yesterday was do-or-die. If Berry could have played I know he would have. But he’s done this year. Good news is Houston seems to have taken back the role of team leader and it’s showing up in big ways.
|
0-2 when he plays, so who cares?

The last thing I'd want to see is him out there for 3 quarters and if it's tight in the 4th quarter he's on the bench in the biggest game of our lives.
|
I voted yes. I don't really think so, but I'd like to spend the entire week believing.
He's still the guy in the huddle before the game hyping the rest of the team up. Would be incredible to see him out there, however unlikely it may look at this point. |
I said yes. Why? Just because, Chiefs!
|
I voted No.
He' sat out for the entire year minus a couple handful of snaps in wk 15 and 16, so he could essentially save himself for a playoff run. Now he's sat out the playoffs because he can't go...I mean if you're going to miss playoff games, then he has zero to offer this team and he should be placed on IR and then released post June 1. I think he knows his playing days are over and purposely milked the Chiefs 1 more yr in salary pay, with Clark's blessing. |
A healthy berry is a huge asset. Hes one of my favorite players given all that hes gone thru. And hes a hell of a player and person. If he can come back and play at or near 100%, great! If not, continue to rehab and come back with a vengeance next season at full speed! Not worth risking further injury.

Someone else put it above, but I too care more about DOD playing.
|
**** Eric Berry. He hasn’t played basically all year. He doesn’t deserve to play on this team at this point. We are fine without him. I don’t want him gettting any credit. I’d almost think some of the guys on defense don’t want the distraction of him anymore. Especially the guy playing his spot.
|
Hopefully. I think the Pats will try to run a lot. Berry's strength has always been disrupting the run in the box. Sorenson will get run over.
|
Can we somehow get over Berry?

Maybe it's already been said but you left off the most obvious option; "Who gives a damn." Even if he played his impact would be minimal IMO.
|
We’re 0-2 with him in the game this year. I hope he doesn’t play, don’t disrupt what’s been working with the younger guys playing. Unless the coaches know he’s a liability and sub him in on running plays or special plays they have mixed in for him.

Like many, I don't care at this point. But I'm happy to see him out there if he goes. However, I want the game-plan made with the intention that Lucas is playing Berry's position instead of sitting behind Sorenson on the depth chart while hoping Berry will start. Since Berry would be unlikely to play much anyway, it would need to look like this w/ Parker inactive.
Lucas - Berry - Murray Sorenson - Lucas |
I don't even want him pretending he's going to play at this point.

Lol i love how the Berry bashers are using the "0-2" against when..
1. When he was on the field against the Chargers we were winning and the defense was dominating. It all fell apart when he left. 2. He was forced to play Seattle with two rookies making their debuts and no Kendall Fuller as well. But hey, keep trying to convince yourselves that we would be better with Dan frikking Sorensen if it makes you feel better :D . |
I hope he plays. Could really use his great tackling even if he’s lost a step in coverage ability. He’s the only one of our DB’s that actually want to come up and make a tackle.
|
If he plays, great.
If he doesn't, great. This is Patrick Mahomes' team. As he goes, so it goes. Can't wait for the game. |
I bet he'll play.
|
The Chiefs are 13-2 without Berry and 0-2 with Berry this season.
Just saying. |
I think he'll play for a few snaps but won't be a major factor in the game. Do I care--Hell NO. If we win he'll lobby to start in Atlanta and I think that's the last thing we need right now. I've admired him in the past, but I've had it with the shenanigans that have gone on this year.

What about Spencer Ware's availability.
In short yardage situations and as a back-up to Damien Williams I still trust him more than the rookie Williams. |

Goodness, there's certainly a lot of frustration (bordering on hate) for Berry these days. I'm as frustrated as anyone that Berry hasn't been playing, but c'mon guys, you know as well as I do that this guy is a warrior. There is not one shred of QUIT in this guy as he had EVERY opportunity to do so when battling cancer, rehabbing from the Achilles tear, etc. And when he's been on the field this year, he sure looks to me like he's giving it his all.
Yeah, he makes a gazillion dollars and yeah the Chiefs did him no favors with that stupid day-to-day bullshit, but do you REALLY think this guy is faking it? Seriously? I think his teammates would be the first to know, yet it sure seems as if they still pay a ton of attention to what he says/does on the sideline. Do you really think they'd put up with fake bullshit? I know these guys aren't the second coming of Einstein, but give 'em a smidgen of credit for knowing/recognizing leadership when they see it. And trust me, you know as well as I that we'd be able to tell if his teammates felt Berry's behavior was just so much schtick. Gentlemen, I fear this is simply another case where it frustrates us to no end when (argueably) our best defensive player isn't playing. Plus, knowing that he's making more $$$ than all of us (probably combined) adds to the frustration. Hey, we are hosting the stinking AFC Championship game here at Arrowhead! Why get hung up on a situation that we really know very little about. Let's send as many positive vibes as we can muster to One Arrowhead Drive as we make our way to a World Championship!!!! Go Chiefs!!! |
I think its more important to have DOD and Ware back.
With Ware back maybe West wont be active, he is the one who missed the block on the blocked punt. |
Your right Meatloaf, he’s a Berry good cheerleader
Willie Roaf could hardly walk but still was a monster on game day. |
In Berry's defense, he made a key stop in the Colts game. At one point Damien was running hard and got shoved out of bounds. It looked like he was about to hit the bench right in front of my seat, but at the last moment Berry grabbed him and stopped his momentum. I'm convinced that it kept Damien healthy.
