Supersong Tournament: Round 2, Heat 2. (PICK TWO)
 

Second verse, same as the first.

In Round Two, I'll put the nominees up in random clumps of five, and you'll pick the TWO musical acts that you would most like, or least hate, to see on the world's biggest stage as the Chiefs face some NFC team next year.

The rules are more or less non-existent. Lobby for anyone you like, post videos for us, and make any arguments against totally insipid groups and rappers. Convince us one way or the other.

My winners:

1. Greta Van Fleet. We need to show the world that America can bring the voice.

2. Dropkick Murphys. Let's celebrate our Irish heritage (for some of us). Patteeu may disagree.

Non-winners.

3. ELO. You can't go wrong with ELO. I hated to not vote for them.

4. Kansas. They're got three awesome songs, and the rest is kind of meh. I can only vote for them if they play their awesome songs, but those songs aren't really Super Bowl relevant. It's a conundrum.

5. Garth Brooks. Nothing against Garth. He just drew a strong heat.

ELO would be fun

GVF is a current king of my music listening. Just a great refreshing oldschool sound.

I'm gonna keep voting for the Dropkick Murphy's in the same manner that I kept voting for Anna Kendrick in the hot chicks tournament.

I know they're outclassed but dammit they just do it for me...

Greta Van Fleet are fresh, young, and energetic.

Dropkick Murphys, not to celebrate Irish heritage, but because they're the American AC/DC.

I love these heats that aren't quite so clear cut. This looks like it'll be a close one.

Right, now this is about as close as a heat could get. I'll be interested to see who pulls it out.

The fact that Greta Van Fleet is in last place just shows me that CP’s taste in music sucks. ****ing fat, bloated Garth Brooks over the best new rock band to come out in a while. Kansas and ELO were relevant about 30 years ago.

In honor of the 40th anniversary of the release of Point on Know Return (feeling old yet kiddies) Kansas is doing a tour of select cities in 2019 that includes the aforementioned album perfomed in its' entirety, including Salina KS.

Complete and utter bullshit. The singer has a similar voice to Robert Plant, but they aren’t a Zeppelin tribute band. That kid has one of the best rock voices in the world.

The voting really roiled around in this heat. Moving on are Garth Brooks and ELO.

Although now called Jeff Lynne's ELO they released a project in 2015 that made it to #2 on Billboard's Top Rock Albums.

Old people have money to buy nostalgia... :D

And old people can still appreciate a full album of quality music,not just going to Itunes and downloading the flavor of the day. :bong:

1.) ELO- This is one of my favorite bands of all time. Everything they do is good. Telephone Line is one of my favorite songs of all time.

2.) Garth Brooks- Grew up watching my parents listen to him. Hated him as a kid, but like it now because of the nostalgia.

3.) Dropkick Murphy's- Pretty badass. I dabbled with MMA a bit in my 20's. I always imagined my entrance song being "Barroom Hero" by them.

4.) Kansas- I guess?

5.) Greta Van Fleet...not sure who she is.

After listening to all of them I say Greta Van Fleet is pretty good and I would vote for them.

I just listened to Barroom Hero. It's a really cool song even thought I can't understand a single word of the lyrics.

They say “hey hey hey” several times.

I love the intro on it.
