Chiefs Offseason Planet Evaluation: Tyler Bray

Okay, we know about the handoff, but wasn't that a great setup for Patrick Mahomes II's game-winning drive? Give him credit for that.

Tyler played in 1 game this year with 0 starts. He had 1 pass attempt this year, which fell incomplete.

Does anyone remember the story of that pass? Who did he throw it to? Was it a bad pass, good coverage, a drop, or something else? I'm genuinely curious.

Easy 6 02-15-2018 10:28 AM

He had a golden opportunity to kick ass against Denver, and blew it... F

Far short

Off the team

Descending

Soft drink

Ok you got me with the free internet

Bowser 02-15-2018 10:29 AM

I don't remember the pass (think he overthrew someone in the flat), I just remember him not being able to hand off which led to a defensive score for the Donks.

He's incompetent. There is no reason to have him on the roster next season.

Shoes 02-15-2018 10:33 AM

Not an NFL Quarterback in my mind- need to find a capable backup this offseason.

Deberg_1990 02-15-2018 10:33 AM

I voted for both the free internet and pizza and the view of the nekkid sorority girls. Sorry.

Mike in SW-MO 02-15-2018 10:41 AM

I have no idea if he is worth a warm bucket of spit.

I also have no idea if he got a practice snap between the end of training camp & going into the Denver game.

All I do know is he has looked like ass every time he has gone on the field.

BlackHelicopters 02-15-2018 11:03 AM

Bye Bray

Skyy God 02-15-2018 12:25 PM

Have him join the Tesla in space.

I concur. One can see a lot of naked girls on the internet.

Easy 6 02-15-2018 01:09 PM

Used to root for this guy pretty hard, thought he'd be a great, cannon armed backup

But he had 5 years to learn the game in an ultra-low pressure capacity, only to come out and immediately look like shit in his big debut... theres just no excuse for that

MTG#10 02-15-2018 01:39 PM

He makes Brodie Croyle look decent

MahiMike 02-15-2018 01:44 PM

Finish him.

FloridaMan88 02-15-2018 02:46 PM

His only career accomplishment is that he sucks less than the likes of Ricky Stanzi and Aaron Murray.

F Minus, Minus, Minus, Minus, Minus, Minus, Minus, Minus

Most Chiefs fans have this big volume of disappointment about the team. Its history, personnel, spectacular playoff failures, injuries, lack of defensive adjustments during games, stupid play calling, worse execution, extremely untimely pass drops, etc.

To me, Tyler Bray is a part of that disappointment. Not the biggest part, not the smallest part, but he is in there making many of us wonder how in the **** he is drawing a living wage when he cannot make a simple ****ing handoff to a running back.

KChiefs1 02-15-2018 07:35 PM

Rating Tyler Bray? LMAO

Were it not for preferential treatment, Bray could have outplayed and out-performed this teams' former starter, saving us millions in cap space not to mention 5 seasons of excruciatingly dull QB "performances".

Surprised he's on the roster still to be honest. Never really progressed after being drafted, and we have our guy now.

BigBeauford 02-16-2018 07:16 AM

Prototypical QB with a cannon who could have been great. But he's so damn inconsistent, and Pat has made me see the value of escapability. I always thought Bray had fairly good pocket awareness, but his accuracy is ultimately what has done him in.

duncan_idaho 02-16-2018 07:50 AM

Evaluation is the same as it has always been:

He sucks.

The fact anyone ever thought he was going to be anything worthwhile is hilarious and moronic.

He's a camp arm. Always has been, always will be.

Cut his worthless ass.

I feel bad for Tyler. He waited five years for a chance to play, and then that happened. That's got to be tough on morale, as well as your season-ending grades.

0.50 Grade (4.0 point scale)
-1.30 Performance Relative to Expectations (+ = Positive Surprise, - = Negative Surprise)
-2.74 Desired Future Role (+ is larger role, - is smaller role)
-0.71 Ascending/Descending (+ is ascending, - is descending)
7.74 Trade Value (Round, also, zero = 2 1st rounders, negative = wouldn't trade)

Don't feel bad for him. He made NFL money for five seasons when he shouldn't have really made it for more than 1. If that.

TRADE MAHOMES AND START BRAY!!!

crazycoffey 02-17-2018 12:41 AM

It’s about time we had a CP offseason evaluation of CP members. Rainman. I think I speak for many; it’s up to you to do it. Start with anyone....

Nickhead 02-17-2018 04:06 AM

I would not trade this player:

for the simple reason you would not get better than an 8th round draft pick out of him :D

reid committed to smith for five years. it didn't matter who the third string was. as long as there was a competent back up, third string could have been our fourth string TE. :D

I'm not sure that's true versus Murray. At least Aaron brought some eye candy along.

Well, there's that. Five years of NFL quarterback pay and 0 hits taken gives a person a good head start in life.
