KC vs. Philly. Who wins? Your predictions?

Well??

What say yea?

TomBarndtsTwin 09-12-2017 06:00 PM

First In.

KC wins a close one, 31-27.

MTG#10 09-12-2017 06:06 PM

KC wins 24-20.

Alex comes back to earth throwing for 178 yards and a TD. But has 2 more hidden TD's.

JoeyChuckles 09-12-2017 06:23 PM

From my expert analysis:

"Wins by 8 or more" is beating "KC wins" by a score of 5-3 currently.

Reerun_KC 09-12-2017 06:26 PM

We better win. You can't give me a victory in the toughest game for any team to play and then go home and lose the next week.

Since Smitty did better than my 255 yards and 3 TD stat last game I will say he will have 290 yards and 3 TDs this game. Kelce will have over 100 yards recieving

Definately by 8 or more. This is Philly at our home opener after whooping NE.

Place gonna be rockin'. Can you imagine that place if Reid puts Mohomes in for the last series or something. In introduction if you will.

I usually fear the "trap game" more than most, but I think this team is too well-coached with too many veterans and too much talent to let that happen.

I've not been as wary of an opposing DL since those monster lines that Buffalo put together about 3 years ago. The Eagles line is friggen killer and will be a serious problem.

I could see them struggling to get to 300 yards of total offense. they'll need a special teams play or turnover to get breathing room. My bet is they get one.

23-14 Chiefs.

Agreed. Gotta respect your opponent. Wentz looked pretty good against the Redskins, but he was picked off at least once and the Redskins scored on it (I think)?

I'm a bit concerned if they can cleanse the field of U2 before the game

MeaTy The Pimp 09-13-2017 09:21 AM

21-17 Chiefs

Smith - 190Yds, 1 TD, 1INT
Hunt - 130Yds. 1 TD
Defense - 2Sacks, 1 TD
Special Teams - DAT will field a kickoff, one of the Philly players will fart near him and DAT will fall over.

DJ's left nut 09-13-2017 09:23 AM

If Hunt gets off for 130 against that front, just order his pro bowl jersey and give him the ROY.

Seriously, if he goes for 80 that will be a hell of a feat. Fletcher Cox is like peak Poe out there right now; he's essentially 2 guys. He's capable of demolishing pretty much any kind of play you can run.

I could see that. Depends on how Philly chooses to pick their poison. If they want to focus on stopping Hill/Kelce due to their diminished secondary, there could be some nice gains for Hunt in the air. Again, provided that Smith has time to throw.

Ahem...Mitch Morse and Larry are going to murder everyone. I didn't see those guys lose one play in NE.

This OL is elite at run blocking IMO

TigeRRUppeRRcut 09-13-2017 09:37 AM

Kareem has an efficient game but about half the rushing yards of what he put up last week. And that's not a bad thing. I think the defense and tight ends have an absolute heyday.

And with the holes the Eagles have in the secondary, expect some screen passes for some big gains. Again, not a bad thing.

Mitch Morse is a hell of a center, but Fletcher Cox is a different breed of cat and if there's anyone that can give Morse problems, it's powerful rushers.

Halfcan 09-13-2017 10:00 AM

I think the Iggles put up a fight the first half, then the Chiefs come out and burry them in the second half.

I am not sure how they are going to cover all the Chiefs weapons. On the other hand I could see the Chiefs defense dominate at home.

At least LDT's problems in the run game are an issue of technique and not strength/attitude.

It's not impossible that the technique issues would've been ironed out over the course of the off-season and camp, or at least improved.

But yeah, I'd definitely need to see more before I convince myself that a relatively poor run blocking unit in '16 is suddenly elite.

O.city 09-13-2017 10:23 AM

Weren't the pats elite vs the run last year?

The Franchise 09-13-2017 10:24 AM

Chiefs - 23
Eagles - 20

I don't think we'll put up 500 yards of total offense in this one. Hunt is going to find it hard to run against this defensive line. I think Hill and Kelce both catch TDs from Smith and Santos hits 3 FGs.

Was't essentially the same unit bad at run blocking last year?

Each year's different. It's possible the Chiefs O-Line suddenly got light years better at run blocking. It's possible the Pats D suddenly got significantly worse at stopping the run.

That's why we need more data points. It never made much sense to me that least year's team was a bad run-blocking team but the eyes and the metrics (especially after Ehinger went down) sure supported it. This team has the size/strength/athleticism on its OL to be an outstanding run blocking unit but I have a hard time just taking that on faith right now.

Hammock Parties 09-13-2017 10:29 AM

The Pats were clearly tired at the end of that game though. We picked up like 100 rushing yards just because of that.

The Franchise 09-13-2017 10:30 AM

If the Chiefs run against the Eagles like they did against the Pats.....then I'll believe that this offensive line is elite. That Pats defensive front was horrible without Hightower.

I dunno - the sweep with Hunt was just textbook. I'm not sure a fresh defense would've been able to do much against that; the execution by the blockers (especially Kelce, IIRC) was just outstanding.

Though West's burst up the middle sure looked like a team that had folded, I'll grant you.

They're a full ZBS ol now with dudes that are athletes. I think big strong dl will still give them fits but they've improved there for sure.

Biggest thing I think improved is a rb with vision. As much as I like ware it seems Hunt just has a better feel for when to go and when to not

*shrug*

It's a huge leap of faith to say last year's meh unit is suddenly elite in run blocking, especially when Kareem Hunt was picking up tons of YAC.

Black Bob 09-13-2017 12:15 PM

We just need to run the shovel pass/Tyreek option on every 3rd and short. It's a damn hard play to defend.

Switch Kelce for Harris on a lot of those so Kelce doesn't take as much of a pounding.

Iconic 09-13-2017 03:39 PM

Eagles interior OL is weak and they have a poor running game to show for it. Wentz is going to have to make plays to beat us and he will make a mistake or two in the process allowing us to win the turnover battle. Plus Reid's coming off a mini bye, he's 8-3 against his former assistant coaches, and it's a home game.

I will be shocked if we lose.
