Jameis Winston

Screw it, seasons over, it's draft season.

This is our guy, he's gonna fall for off field stuff (don't care anyway, it's overblown). He fulfills both sides of cp. He's a winner, and he's a bad ass who's "clutch" (I hate that ****ing cliche so bad, but oh well).

Jameis Winston and Andy Reid in KC. Book it.

http://nflphilosophy.com/marcus-mari...ameis-winston/
Thoughts?

Pablo 12-30-2014 09:35 PM

I'd give him a shot. He obviously has plenty of talent, but still probably has a whole lot of dumb ass moments left in him.

Talent rules everything though.

notorious 12-30-2014 09:35 PM

Yeah, why not.

RunKC 12-30-2014 09:36 PM

I can see it now...

"Jameis Winston suspended for stealing stack of ribs from Jack Stack."

mcaj22 12-30-2014 09:36 PM

what about the 17 million dollar elephant?

just going to be the highest paid 2nd string QB ever?

Drafted QB's don't make as much as you think.

They can? trade? I thought it was by a certain date or we are stuck with him?

Sweet Daddy Hate 12-30-2014 09:38 PM

YES!

Discuss Thrower 12-30-2014 09:39 PM

It would be the correct move to make if the team commits to him clipboard holding until Smith's contract expires.

O.city 12-30-2014 09:39 PM

I don't care about off field atuff, if he legit cares about football. Get him a babysitter

LoneWolf 12-30-2014 09:39 PM

There is about a 0.1% chance that Winston falls to 18.

I like the trade smith for RGIII idea, but I don't see it.

RunKC 12-30-2014 09:43 PM

would take a lot to move up to draft the kid. I'm thinking a 3rd+next years 1st at the least.

I would love to have him, but I doubt it happens. This regime is tied to Alex :(

7 million saved off the cap if cut after next year.

Plus the silly cap numbers for the rest of the deal.

Jim Lahey 12-30-2014 09:44 PM

Jameis is absolutely worth every bit of risk. It seems unlikely he'll fall to 18 however.

But we all know deep down..he will. And sure enough, we'll pass on him. Some douche named Elway will trade up and grab and groom him and trade Osweiller.

Chiefs.

RunKC 12-30-2014 09:45 PM

Winston will be gone at #2 IMO. I can't see the Titans passing him up.

stevieray 12-30-2014 09:46 PM

is this guy going to be the new sanchez/geno?

BossChief 12-30-2014 09:49 PM

You know me...sign me up for the "trade up for the best quarterback the draft class has to offer." group think.

Every year until we actually do it.

Then I'll call up the Chiefs and pay for 4 seats worth of season tickets.

Buehler445 12-30-2014 09:50 PM

I said as much in the draft forum. I don't want a dumbass (he is) who regresses from his freshman to sophomore year. And dumbass.

He walks like he has a corn cobb up his butt.

Dante84 12-30-2014 09:53 PM

No. And I'm a huge fan of his football talent.

But this guy is a sociopath.

He consistently puts himself in bad situations and makes the wrong choices. Always. Just like Manziel. Just... a ****ing reerun.

Its beyond shit like, "Oh he's young and silly." Justin Houston smoking before the combine? That was young and silly.

There's plenty of stories of business owners near FSU who had issues with him stealing or causing issues, in addition to the Publix crab legs.

The thing that stood out to me most... was when he was benched by Jimbo - BENCHED, when he is a returning Heisman-winner, vying for a 2nd Natl. Championship - and he still came out in his uniform:
<iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/E496a8ONxGE" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Granted, Jimbo tried to play it down... but seriously...

notorious 12-30-2014 09:53 PM

If you want him, hope that he plays like shit in the Semi-Final and gets caught with weed after the game.

Eureka 12-30-2014 09:53 PM

Why not trade up to get Winston? He could prob throw a TD pass to a WR and create some excitement for KC!

I'd take Petty at 18 and sit him behind Smith a year or two. And that is probably riskier from a transition/skills perspective.

That and your mother is a whore. :D

For us, neither has trading down, standing pat, trading it for a player, nor trading it for a coach. I can't figure out what else to do with it.

Iconic 12-30-2014 10:08 PM

He won't fall to us and we aren't trading up to get him.

It might be too much of an ego boost to a kid with a big enough ego as is.

I've thought about that...but I'd trust Andy to help the kid mature.

He would be Andy's new and even better version of McNabb.

The last thing this franchise needs to do is take a risk. We need to go with a sure thing and get help for the OLine.

KCBOSS1 12-30-2014 10:55 PM

Not going to happen. This kid has been more trouble in college than Manziel was. We don't have an administration that is interested in a trouble risk. We won't draft a QB high. Very possibly will take a high talent guy development guy in lower rounds.

KCBOSS1 12-30-2014 10:57 PM

Some of you guys are looking for a qb but Dorsey is not. WRs, OL, DBs, possibly another LB.

Well, no shit. We all know that Dorsey loves him some Smiff, this is a thread for dreamin'.

Dreamin' about something more than eleven yards in a two minute drill.

You know Im a dreamer, but Im not the only one.
Some day we'll have a QB worth a shit and CP can live as one.

KCBOSS1 12-30-2014 11:02 PM

I'm not in disagreement with you, but apart from a shot at an established franchise guy. And I didn't see the dreamin disclaimer in the opening thread line. Honestly, I would love it if they would just get a wild hair and see what Chase could do as the starter. I think He has the Drew Brees mindset.

Just Passin' By 12-30-2014 11:23 PM

He's probably not falling out of the top 6 unless he shivs someone.

Alex would probably be a good QB for him to sit behind. Winston had way too many INT's this year...

I'm a fan and I'd $3it my pants if we selected him but him starting day 1 is not a great idea. He needs to sit and learn...

Rodgers wasn't a Heisman winning QB that currently is undefeated as a starter. Rodgers also had the stigma of being a Jeff Tedford QB. He was trying to overcome the Akili Smith, Joey Harrington, Trent Dilfer, David Carr, and Kyle Boller stigma.

Winston has a few off the field issues that may cause him to slip in the draft, but he won't fall out of the top ten. Personally, I think he ends up having a better career than Mariotta.

Akili Smith was never going to pan out, Harrington would have been good if he hadn't went to Detroit, Diller won a Super Bowl (And should have stayed in Balt), Carr got shafted by going to an expansion team, and Boller was never THAT good.
