As for melting down, not really, but this is a worse version of the 2018 squad. Hopefully the OL gets better as the year goes on and the offense can actually win these shootouts instead of lose them.

This is 2018 but the offense isn't nearly as good.

Superbowl hangover plus the team hasn't exactly brought in lots of talent, in sports when you stay the same you're going backwards.

Those turnovers didn’t appear out of a vacuum, the Chargers were keying in on something and we need to adjust.

Christ, this team won every close game possible for the last 2 years, and when they start dropping some because of horrendous turnovers a lot of guys here start guzzling antifreeze.

It will be fine. Season starts in January, and if the defense is still playing like this there is no reason to get excited.

Every week the chiefs are playing a team that is thirsty to punch the chiefs and Mahomes in the jaw. Lastt season it was exhausting trying to keep up that pace and left the team burnt by the end of the season.

Maybe this season they take their lumps early and will be in a better place by playoffs.

We're still a good team. We had a double digit lead in Baltimore before we choked that one away and it took 4 turnovers for us to lose to the Chargers.

We just need to stop beating ourselves.

The offense will be fine. The turnovers are uncharacteristic so I don’t think it’ll be a season-long thing.

I’m really concerned about the defense. They are just absolutely horrible. They play terrible at the worst possible times.

Mahomes kinda did cost us the last two games by going full reerun late in the game. He'll fix it.

As for the defense, it's early. Baker and Huges had good and bad moments. Sneed's penalty was worse than Baker's.

I'll admit, I got very comfortable when the Chiefs were up 11 with the ball in Raven territory late in the 3rd quarter last week.

Bunch of out of control egos on the offense, and a head coach who'll pat them on the head instead of booting them in the ass.

They didn't learn anything in the Superbowl, and if that beating wasn't enough to humble them, I doubt anything will be.

That defense is being beat like a drum, so yeah I'm gonna have to disagree

I’m not in meltdown mode yet but there’s some very concerning problems with this team that I think are obvious and things we just aren’t fixing with the snap of our finger.

I was demoralized when the Chargers elected to go for it on 4th and 4.
I was further demoralized when the Chargers elected to go for it on 4th and 9.

It's goddamn pathetic that I feel like that in those situations.

Snead's penalty was one of the worst I've ever seen. That ball was at least ten feet over the receiver's head at the exact moment Snead hit him, and it landed ten yards past them. Nobody on earth could have caught that pass

He basically kept the offense running single handed at points.

our defense is so bad teams aren't afraid to go for it. Probably going to need a complete overhaul of our defense in the off season

Playing poorly would involve us being blown out - not a play or 2 away from victory which we have been in the 2 losses.

You are not supposed to call pass interference if the ball is uncatchable...but still you gotta pull up and not put the hit on there...can't assume the ref will be smart enough to actual know the rules.

Honestly, in hindsight I was thinking it was a good decision because we may get a penalty. It's exactly what happened.

The Chiefs offense has 500 yards, probably doubles up the Chargers in yards, if they don't turn the ball over 3 times in the first half. It's a double-digit win, easy.

I don't remember the exact stats, but IIRC the defense, despite being on the field nearly the entire first half, only gave up 150ish yards before halftime. They're undoubtedly gassed at the end because the offense keeps shitting itself on the field so much

It was also just a terrible play by Sneed. He's gotta know he can't do that, specifically at that moment.

Sneed has been horrible this year.
