Tyreek Hill injury updates.

Someone just told me Tyreek Hill could be out 6-8 weeks.

This is the same source that told me he would receive 0 games 20 minutes before the national media broke it.

Take it for what it's worth.

EDIT: IT WAS WORTH NOTHING

I literally posted that in the game thread 30 minutes ago.

Standard recovery for a broken collarbone.

dlphg9 09-08-2019 12:55 PM

How would anyone know how many weeks he will be out?

I assume it's an estimate not a promise, based on the average time for a nice physical specimen to be ready.

Either a WAG or an estimate based on average recovery times. Gonna guess the latter.

Dante84 09-08-2019 01:05 PM

Clay what was the injury

Chiefs4TheWin 09-08-2019 01:06 PM

If that's really the case we better hope Watkins can stay healthy until then.

carcosa 09-08-2019 01:06 PM

I guess as long as he's ready for the playoffs...

I was not actually told, but it's safe to assume it's a broken collarbone.

Lol my son sent me that text verbatim minutes ago. He doesn’t even know about chiefs planet. I don’t think? Are you my son?

FloridaMan88 09-08-2019 01:07 PM

I already miss the “good old days” when Crystal, Brooke and Angie were our biggest worry with Tyreek... JFC.

We're gonna be fine, Mahomes is gawd.

We didn't run for shit today.

rabblerouser 09-08-2019 01:16 PM

****.

At least it's not a season ender...but I figured it was something serious when it took them over a quarter to rule him out

dlphg9 09-08-2019 01:18 PM

Thank God Mahomes wasn't hurt. When I saw that **** stick Moore putting on his helmet I wanted to puke lol.

Raiderhater 09-08-2019 01:21 PM

If it is a broken collarbone - I am currently 8 weeks into mine with about another 5 to go before the doctor thinks he will be able to release me to fully for work.

Not all breaks are equal, but it gives you an idea.

carcosa 09-08-2019 01:26 PM

OKAY TAKE MAHOMES OUT NOW

Yes. But also a bone is going to heal however it heals. You can do things to help the healing process but, there still comes a point where each body heals at its own pace.

And my body is healing just as it should, if not better. I don’t even need physical therapy. The body is going to do what the body is going to do. And hopefully this conversation is all for naught because the rumors are untrue. We’ll see.

Good teams overcome adversity.

tmax63 09-08-2019 02:11 PM

Better a WR than other position group. This gets Hardman, DRob and everybody else good touches and a fresh TH for the 2nd half of the season.

RINGLEADER 09-08-2019 02:12 PM

Grbac missed five weeks and the bye with a busted collarbone. Probably would come back around the bye if it was a collarbone.

Marcellus 09-08-2019 02:13 PM

Foles was the one reported to have a broken collar bone. Nothing n that play looked liek a collar bone injury for hill.

arrowheadnation 09-08-2019 02:13 PM

Chatter on twitter is a possible AC joint injury.

Sucks to lose him at all, but it sounds like it could be worse.

mr. tegu 09-08-2019 02:19 PM

The offense was noticeably different with him out. This is not good and will certainly result in at least one extra loss.

Yeah, it changes everything for defenses.

We'll still score a lot, but we'll really need to rely on Shady and Williams more, IMO.

Hopefully it's just a nasty contusion and not broken. Cause that baby will be at risk of re-breaking this whole year no matter how long he's out. :(

Mahomes was hurt too and that was arguably the bigger problem. Andy was trying to protect Mahomes from taking more hits. If you remember, they still torched the Jags defense early in the game without Tyreek...before Pat's injury.

I think if its an AC he may be back quicker, but I'm thinking a collar bone would heal and he would have few further problems, where and AC sprain can lead to more down the road, similar to an ankle. JMT

MMXcalibur 09-08-2019 02:28 PM

Goddamnit, I just had that pessimistic feel that some Chief would get injured today.
We can't have things go TOO well for KC because...well, Chiefs.

Wow, both Hill and Foles out with broken collarbones.

His collarbone is being examined per "official" sources.

RINGLEADER 09-08-2019 02:34 PM

Came in late to the Reid interview on the radio. Did he say anything?

ptlyon 09-08-2019 02:34 PM

Because Chiefs. We still haven't shaken that shit.

RINGLEADER 09-08-2019 02:34 PM

Reid on Mahomes: He's doing good. He's a tough kid.

Kiimo 09-08-2019 02:35 PM

Please don't be a broken collarbone

mnchiefsguy 09-08-2019 02:35 PM

If Watkins continues to ball out like today, we can be cautious with Hill and not rush him back.

Still hoping it is just a bad shoulder bruise.

Marcellus 09-08-2019 02:35 PM

Hill being out 6 weeks isnt the end of the world if it happens.

RINGLEADER 09-08-2019 02:36 PM

Reid on Tyreek: He's good. Not sure if it was clean play. Got him over to the hospital where he had to have that checked.

Otter 09-08-2019 02:36 PM

I was watching the play and the reply and both his arms looked way too mobile for a broke collar bone. Foles certainly looked like he had a broken collar bone but not Hill.

RunKC 09-08-2019 02:36 PM

Let’s say it’s worst case scenario and the collarbone is broken. That’s not the end of the world. It’s a 6-8 week recovery.

We’d likely get him back around Thanksgiving. If anything we should be thankful this happened week 1 instead of in December

Future opponents will key in on Sammy if Tyreek is out. But I'm sure Reid will come up with some ways to account for those double teams.

Of ****ing course, the Chiefs finally have a team that is SB worthy and since we have the worst luck imaginable, our potential HOF WR gets hurt just after he signs an extension. Weve had pretty bad luck when it comes to signing guys to big extensions and them getting hurt.
