ESPN Article on Chiefs Woes
Chiefs address weekly burden of being in the 'crosshairs'
https://www.espn.com/blog/kansas-cit...the-crosshairs KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- As the two-time defending AFC champions with dynamic talent Patrick Mahomes at quarterback, it's natural the Kansas City Chiefs take every opponent's best shot. "Rise up"??? What the hell does that mean? To me it means they don't have a clue on how to fix the defense. That's what it means to me. |
What’s wrong with “rise up?”
It’s not like KC is going to give away their strategy on how they intend to fix their defensive issues |

Teicher, won't read.

ESPN should be upset for paying Teicher when this monkey does the same thing for free. https://64.media.tumblr.com/604bebb3...56zo1_400.gifv |

Well that explains it, thank goodness someone has it figured out. :banghead:

Why is he covering the Chiefs? I mean, really? He sucks, and always has. Go cover your fav team Teicher (faders). They're having a real moment now.

Definitely agree that coaches shouldn't go into specifics of what they are going to change, but some generic references that you are seeing things on film that can be corrected and you actually are going to change going forward might inspire more confidence. |
I can't read anymore of this shit. We all know the problems.
|
JFC word salad of absolutely zero value. KC's woes are because they're in everyone's crosshairs? Seriously? This is some low effort "oh woe is me" bullshit.
Wanna know why KC is struggling this year? Shit defense. Turnovers. That's it. Hell, simply cut out the turnovers and this is a one loss team. Everyone's got to get their hot takes in. They're mostly shit, and most definitely shit from espn, which is no surprise to anyone. |
Three Super Bowls in a row is not an easy task. Like a new and tastier cheeseburger. Maybe persimmon mustard?
|
"opponents -- as Mathieu said -- are putting in extra time to prepare for them"
Why would they? They could put in less effort than usual and still drag KC defenders up and down the field by their ****ing ponytails. |

Teams have been trying to beat Tom Brady for 20 years - he still beats them. If you consider yourselves a team that can go down in the history books, you don't lose games by beating yourself. You don't come out flat in prime-time matchups. And no, you don't put up historically bad performances on one side of the football for 5 weeks. This isn't a question of 'taking a teams best shot' right now. This team isn't as good as it thinks it is and it refuses to acknowledge that fact. Y'all gave up like 400 yards passing to Jalen Hurts, FFS. They're not playing well - you're playing poorly. And until that fact is acknowledged it's going to keep happening. What worries me is that I hoped that the Buffalo game would humble them and it certainly doesn't appear that it did. |

He isn't coming out and saying they are going to switch coverages to this or that, hell he wont even say they are changing personnel in different sets etc...you don't tell anyone anything you are doing when you are making changes to improve one side of the ball. That would be dumb. So you get coach speak. |
As much as I hate to say this, it makes what the Patriots did the last 15 years even more incredible.
|
The team has to be seeing all these stories talking about how much they suck. Gotta be some motivation.
|
We might be due for a more humiliating loss against the WFT, Titans or Broncos if the attitude is simply "other teams are treating us like their Super Bowl and that's why we're losing."

This quote by Tyrann is underrated
"We've just got to find a way to dig deep," Mathieu said Sunday night after a 38-20 loss to the Buffalo Bills. "Every team we play wants to beat us. They want to beat us bad. ... We go to Washington [this] week and they're going to want to beat us. I wonder if this is something new or if teams have wanted to beat us before?? |

only AFC teams feel this way
we have been pretty unfortunate to play four teams that all lost to us last year, with good to elite QBs, and they came into the year knowing they had to get past us to get to the next level the browns, chargers ravens and bills all spent the entire offseason focused almost solely on how to beat us and in the end, what REALLY beat us...was turnovers we gonna be fine |
As big as a clown Clay is, that post made me have good feels.
I agree. Thanks Clay. |

The uncomfortable feeling of knowing. That if you beat the Chiefs in the first 5 games of 2021? You still haven't beat anyone.

On the list of reasons why this team is 2-3 instead of 5-0, I would put "teams are trying harder against us" just outside the top 10. The team has no one to blame but themselves for being on the all-time worst list in some defensive categories. It's a stupid, arrogant take from Mathieu and an even more stupid premise for an article.
|
Chiefs defense won’t allow this team to beat any decent team.

The highlight being Hitchens being even worse than rookie Dee Ford at running away from the ball |

Yup.
Nothing KC is doing wrong at all. Just taking everyone’s best shot. |

Until we hear them acknowledge their own lack of focus, effort and execution, it’s all just masturbating. |
