Netflix: Red Notice
Netflix spends $200 million on a movie. Gets A list stars and no thread?
Thought it was a fun popcorn movie. If I’d saw this pre-Covid in theatre's, it’d still be fun. Reynolds with wise cracking insults like he did in Deadpool. The Rock doing his Rock thing. Gadot looking sexy. |
I haven’t watched it yet. But I noticed that local theaters in my area were playing both this and ‘The Harder they Fall’ for the past couple of weeks. before they dropped on their site.
Funny how Netflix wants to be in the theatrical game now. |
I’m excited to watch it. It looks fun.
|
It's a treasure hunt movie, all Indiana ones etc. - except with poor acting - every line delivered with a wink to the audience.
Still, kinda fun, and Gal is pretty. |
We watched this weekend, was enjoyable. Not really great or anything but decent filler with some good chuckle moments.

The critics were right. Just a soulless movie with really bad dialogue, and some of the laziest storytelling you could imagine. We're talking "my mother was an Egyptologist, that's why I know these things" kind of tier. There might be some kind of enjoyment to be had, you'll just have to find a way to turn your brain off to one notch above vegetative state. Careful not to go full Terri Schaivo!

RE: the movie, if you like Ryan Reynolds banter, you'll like it. If not, nope. |

I need to watch Waiting again. I hated it the first time. I’m open to being wrong here. But just because it peaked doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy it. |

The rock touting over 150 million hours of viewing this movie on Netflix.

It of course had some “you are really doing that?” moments but I found it plenty entertaining.

Man, the amount of clunky exposition in this movie is PAINFUL.
And Gadot just isn’t my bag. Pretty, yes - but just no curves. And the Rock is looking old these days. Just a really forgettable movie. |
I enjoyed it. Was it a little cheesy in spots? Sure, but it kept me entertained for a couple hours. Movies you just have to go by the world they show you it is, reality doesn’t reign in the movie world. Just watch it for what it is.

There's nothing worse in a movie than these obvious exposition scenes when they're trying to fill in gaps in a plot. Any writer worth a single damn will know the old 'show, don't tell' axiom. This movie didn't do that at all. If they didn't have a way to explain why a character would do something or know something, they just gave you a 3-4 minute scene that grinds the movie to a halt where everyone sits there and chats in overly long, overly flowery prose. If Aaron Sorkin tried to make a heist movie after suffering a series of debilitating strokes and then falling on his head...from a significant height...multiple times - you'd have this movie. It was honestly one of the more offensively poorly written movies I think I've ever seen. |
I'm a couple episodes into the bonkers-ass Korean show called 'Hellbound' and I'd definitely recommend this over Red Notice.
But yeah - it's friggen weird. At least its interesting weird, though. |

The Rock posting on Instagram that after two weeks, this is the most popular movie of all time on Netflix. I guess it’s more popular outside of ChiefsPlanet.

Absolutely pure garbage so not surprising it's popular with the passes. Jfc what an abomination.
|
Yeah - this movie still sucked. I don't care how many people have watched it.
|
The Rock. He had some interesting roles back when he first broke into Hollywood. Gridiron Gang, Be Cool, Southland Tales, Get Smart…
It’s like he barely even tries anymore. |

I understand wanting better quality. But, that era is over in these big budget action movies. You get formulas. Focus grouped to the masses entertainment. You need to turn off your brain and just watch or just avoid the whole genre. |

I really liked The Last Duel. I don't know if it's an action movie per se, but it was good and different. Like it or not, the Marvel movies are action flicks. And I like most of them. This is my favorite action scene of the last decade. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/Mmr7IQJaYuU" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> |
I'd sacrifice one of you, any of you really, for the opportunity to have my ass kicked by a barefoot Gal Gadot in that red dress.

The Old Guard was a pretty good flick - Netflix movie.
Kingsman was good and the Craig Bonds have been good. Cruise is still churning out hits with the MI series and Day After Tomorrow. The Wick franchise, Fury Road, The Raid. There have been plenty of good ones. That one was not. |

Obviously I wouldn’t say no, but she’s not high on my Hollywood list. I recognize that she’s a stunningly pretty woman, but I don’t have the fascination with her most seem to have. |

Personally I don’t think the Rock makes very good movies. He makes ‘meh’ movies. He needs to work with better talent like Arnold did. But maybe he doesn’t care because he’s making a lot of money anyways? And Ryan Reynolds is getting very one note too. |
I actually agree with most here. I've never much cared for Gadot, though she is clearly very pretty.
The first time I was ever exposed to her was in Fast Five. I will never forget the slow-mo scene they had for her showing off her body as if it was something to behold. https://i.gifer.com/origin/26/26426e...682a8b03a1.gif https://i.makeagif.com/media/2-28-2016/xRaYpt.gif I mean, she's got no ass whatsoever and that just doesn't do it for me. If I saw her at the beach, I wouldn't even look twice. |
