Huge night for me tonight, one that I worked hard to attain. Hours and hours (and hours) of practice and rehearsal to attain. And you say this.

After I got off the stage, I ran outside and lost my shit. I was sobbing. What an emotional thing.

I've done stand up a few times and this doesn't compare. Though laughter is a great high as well. I'm 2 for 3 on that.

Here's something neat. You know The Outlaw's (Green Grass and High Tides Forever)? Well, the guitarist was there and I followed him. Great guy. I was there to give him a guitar I was giving away and he happened to be the recipient. Spent all night talking to him. He also helped compose Landslide by Fleetwood Mac.

Even better, he is gifting me a Les Paul Maestro. Shit guitar but will be very valued and treasured by me. Signed too. I may have peaked.

I fat thumbed the neg rep by mistake, congrats! The first show is always so much fun. Playing an instrument is great, playing in front of other people is a whole other experience.

Gig #2. To an empty house. But it was great as I could relax and just play. Relaxed tempo, the room wasn't spinning, and I made no mistakes. Learned a lot tonight.

IMO standup is more difficult. When you pause after giving the punch line your taking a huge leap of faith that a room full of strangers is going to laugh at your joke. Learning to keep your composure after a joke you wrote fell flat is tough because your natural tendency is to panic and rush through your set.

I will say that learning to be a great public speaker is a great skill to hone because once you feel comfortable and confident you can bullshit your way into a lot of jobs.
