HT viewing or out at a theater? One of my fondest childhood memories was pops taking me to a revival theater downtown that was showing The General with live pipe organ accompaniment and everything.

I was going to fix it when he posted that but he went and quoted me. Nothing I could do at that point.

By the way, I've seen plenty of movies spoiled in this thread.

Oh yeah. She was hot in Knocked Up, and then she pissed all over that and the girly hospital show that made her famous. But yeah, I'd still hit it.

Yeah, the things that he did in his movies were really crazy. Respect.

I watched Duck Soup last night. The Marx Brothers movie. Funny. They must have rehearsed some of those physical gags a hundred times to get the timing down.

Miles 01-28-2012 02:00 AM

Watching Pulp Fiction on one of the movie channels right now. Easy to forget how damn close to perfect it is. The scenes with Fabienne are still annoying though.

Miles 01-28-2012 02:02 AM

I really don't care about her pie and pankakes. Do not forget the ****ing watch. That character has no redeeming qualities at all.

Ha, I caught the first part last night as well, and had exactly the same thought as you. It was on super late, just happened to click through it, and I sat there until the Jack Rabbit Slim scene, knowing I had to be up in three hours. It was worth it.

Bump 01-28-2012 07:33 PM

Moneyball was def worth the rent, damn good film

Bowser 01-29-2012 01:00 AM

Rented Kill List tonight. Rather messed up film. Could have been a pretty good film, but it just wasn't. Take a pass on it.

IM still of the opinion, Tarantino has never made a bad movie (one he directed). Death Proof i didnt like much at first, but it has grown on me.

Home media center. It's old enough that I think it's actually public domain now. The music was recorded in the 90's though. It was my first time seeing Buster Keaton. I was impressed, it was very watchable.

In58men 02-06-2012 12:05 PM

Contraband was good. Ready for Batman this year

Bump 02-06-2012 11:33 PM

just watched Contagion, pretty good, not bad.

frankotank 02-08-2012 02:20 PM

been at home illin and chillin last few days....so I busted out the netflix.

watched three great movies. two I'd never seen....

Ip Man & Ip Man 2.
pretty dang good flicks. both are captioned so you gotta read...and I really don't like that in a movie...but Ip Man grabbed me before I could shut it off. based on truth - he was Bruce Lee's teacher. really good stuff, best martial arts movies I've seen in a long long time. (I'm not even a big fan of this kinda movie either)

and one I had forgotten about.

The Iron Giant
don't laugh! yes this is an animated movie, but it's a great one. if you've never seen it....you really should. if your kids have never seen it even better, watch it with them. it's awesome.

I can't believe that Midnight in Paris had flown under my radar for this long (all I seem to see these days are kid movies). What a fun film! I was, basically, Owen Wilson's character at one time, completely obsessed with that era and all the ex-pat writers and artists living in Paris. As such, the movie was really enjoyable. I'm not sure that people who aren't into arts, literature, or that decade would find it all that great, though.

ThaVirus 02-11-2012 02:04 PM

Anybody seen Safe House yet? I think I'm going to matinee that one then Underworld tomorrow morning..

Warrior.

Started off decent then went full Disney.

I saw "The Grey" last week. It wasn't as good as I thought it would be. I recommend waiting til it comes out on Netflix.

Watching Eyes Wide Shut on HDNet Movies.

Nicole was ****ing hot back then.

Its really just a vehicle for a ton of tits.

Yes. Tits is all. And Nicole's were excellent. The rest of the movie = crap.

Fire Me Boy! 02-12-2012 09:48 AM

Eyes Wide Shut is a psychological character study about marital fidelity (or infidelity). It's outstanding and maybe Kubrick's most misunderstood film.

And Kidman's tits are outstanding.

frankotank 02-13-2012 08:02 AM

someone in here mentioned The Serpent And The Rainbow....I watched it last night (hadn't seen it in 20 years) eh...to each his own. I didn't think it was very good.

also watched Real Steel. not one of the greatest movies I've ever seen....but it was surprisingly good. much cooler than I thought it would be.

(random thought that has nothing to do with this thread......Karli Ritter is so hot! tell me more about this crappy weather honey!)

blaise 02-13-2012 08:09 AM

I watched some movie called "The Good, The Bad and the Weird". Korean, I think. It was like a 2 1/2 hour gunfight. I kept almost turning it off, because I kept thinking, "Ok, this is just too much. It's over the top. It's getting silly." But I couldn't turn it off, and then I decided I liked it.

Bump 02-13-2012 05:25 PM

J.F.C. Real Steel had the most cheesy and cliche ending ever

That's great news. The director is from Little Rock, AR (also the brother of the lead singer/songwriter from alt-country band, Lucero.)

I guess we watched two different movies.

Neeson was fantastic, and the movie hit me with two body blows that I didn't see coming right near the end.

Watched quite a few movies the past couple of days.

Texas Killing Fields -- wtf; lame.

Change-Up - actually pretty good. Reynolds cracks me up.

Larry Crowne - really enjoyed it; even though it's so not my kind of movie.

The Thing -- pretty lame, even though that lead actress is pretty hot.

I decided to go see the new "Ghost Rider" earlier today. It wasn't very good. The characters and the story line were pretty weak. The only thing that was marginally better compared to the first "Ghost Rider" was the CGI.
