Exactly. This is a combination of a new owner and bringing Hollinger into the fold. The mediocre return speaks to the fact that many teams out there realized what Gay is. He's a nice player, but he looks much better than his output. Marginal defensive guy despite so many physical tools, 40% shooter (around 17 shots/game), and making max money. He and DeRozan aren't much different frankly, and both will now man the wing in Toronto making entirely too much for what they bring to the table. Memphis gained flexibility, a really nice 23 year old big and a solid vet small forward.
I'm not thrilled as a Grizz fan, but the disappointment comes from not getting back as much as I'd hoped.
