They're going to kill us if he does go to Denver.

So, are you really that concerned with Romo signing in Denver?

I hate to say it, but if Denver signs 2 good OL and Romo in FA and then drafts a running back and TE that's worth a damn, I'd be concerned about KCs chances of making the playoffs next year.

I think it's entirely possible. Draft a LT round 1 like Bolles, get a serviceable RT in FA like Reiff, and get a stud RG in FA like Zeitler... they'd be off to a good start. They have the cap space to make a "splash" for a guy like Zeitler. If they can get Reiff on a RT deal, even if its high, rather than a LT deal, then that's a win because he is an OK LT that could help Denver if something goes wrong on that side.

Sure, they might spend 18-20 million per on making those signings, but with over 40 million in cap room, they'd be fine. Fill in your holes defensively in the draft.

The starting caliber OL in FA this year are going to get overpaid, BIGTIME.

This is a very weak OL and QB draft...lots of teams need OL and have huge amounts of caps space they need to spend.

Guys like Reiff are going to get a lot more than you think.

Is that all they need to do? Pick up 5 new good starters?

I think it begins and ends with what they can sign in FA on the OL. Fix the OL and let's see what CJ and Booker can do. Go draft a RB in the mid rounds or sign a veteran at a good price. Find a solid slot WR and draft a TE.

Do all that... I think Trevor plays at a higher level, but McCoy's offense is apparently not the best fit for Trevor. It's suited more for Lynch and we'll see what McCoy and Musgrave can do there.

Thanks to those question marks and this being a QB focused league, all the rumors are focused on Romo. I'm just not a fan. Romo likes to improvise and move around, that's not ideal if you're 37 and fragile. One decent hit and he snaps a collarbone for the 4th time.

That's my main thing... caution was thrown to the wind with Manning because, let's face it - Manning as a FA at that point after the surgery was more worth the gamble than Romo. And, they were seriously hoping to move on from Tebow. There's only one way you do that after that season - you go sign Manning.

It's different this year. Trevor wasn't horrible last year, but he's not really the long-term answer. Personally, I'm not focused on a 'win now window'... I know the team looks at it like that, so whatever they do... they do. I'm fine with trying to revamp the OL, WR, TE and coach up the young guys, let's see if the Lynch can do anything. I'd rather fight through that season than sign Romo and risk he gets hurt, pushing the young guys into the role anyway.

I'm not a SB or Bust guy at this point... it was a fun ride with Manning, but you can't capture lighting in a bottle twice like that and I just do not believe in Romo.

In 10 seasons as the starter in Dallas, Romo led his teams to more than 8 wins... only 3 times (07, 09, 14).

The lack of success wasn't always his fault, but to suggest (as some have) that he never had great talent around him is flawed.

I think 2016 was an oddly perfect storm for Dallas, with the two rookies dominating as they did. Zeke made Dak's job a whole lot easier and Romo likely would have had the same type of success. One never knows...

I think Romo is one of the best5-8 QBs in the league and paired with a Denver defense could win a title.

Siemien/Lynch aren't doing that.

Maybe a few years ago...

Right now, everyone being healthy Day 1 of 2017 season, I'd put these guys over Romo. (and not in any order)

Brees, Rodgers, Brady, Luck, Newton, Rivers, Carr, Manning, Ryan, Roethlisberger, Flacco... just off the top of my head.

If you were to take Romo and those guys, pick one to play in Denver... I have them all over Romo.

His reputation basically hinges on the 2014 season, when he played over his head compared to who he'd always been.

And now he's been shelved for 2 years, is 36 years old, and has major injury concerns.

We should, this is some of the dumbest shit ever. "I don't like Alex so I hope the Chiefs lose every game!" It's like the grown up version of "screw you guys,I'm taking my ball and going home".

They should make a list and ban these bastards til Mar 2018. What kind of fan roots against his own team anyways? Blasphemy to its fullest.

Dont disagree with your second statement.

But your first, I do. Strongly. He has 7 seasons of 95+ passer rating. He has passed for over 25 touchdowns 7 times. He has passed for over 30 touchdowns 4 times.

I am not a huge Tony Romo fan, as I hate the Cowboys. But credit where credit is due. Romo is much better than the average fan gives him credit for, and if healthy, would give the Chiefs/Broncos/20+teams an upgrade at QB.
