Read conjecture today that it might have been "we're all infected" which is why he was so careful to put headshots into the two he killed in the bar.

Also read conjecture that the girl who is obviously turning (that was the other wtf of the episode: they have to know what's happening to her) was never bitten so maybe the virus or whatever it is has gone airborne and she got it just from being in such close proximity to the corpse.

Which raises something else I've wondered all along. They don't take any special precaution handling the bodies. Not even gloves. I'd sure as hell want to cover as much of myself as I could, and find at least a paper mask.

Yeah, when the blond hopped off the pickup and grabbed the arm I thought, "I'd want a glove or something." And when Shane was, "washing" the arm of Sophia's mother it seemed like he was looking for bites because she was out in the woods. But he was just using bare hands to do it.

Remember she ran to her dead mother's zombie corpse after they shot her up, and her mom attacked her b/c her brain hadn't been destroyed. Probably a scratch, or fluid in her eye or mouth.

That is exactly what I thought when she collapsed.

That's who I was referring to as "the corpse". I thought they made it pretty clear the girl wasn't bitten, which means she'd have to catch it another way. Even a scratch or fluid would be a change (going by events in season 1). Which all plays into my earlier comment about how careless they are around walkers they've dispatched.

Yeah. I also got the creeps watching her ride in the back of the truck in such close proximity to all the downed walkers. I realize they're "down" because they've all taken head shots... but you never know and can never be totally sure until they're burned up.

The virus being airborne might be a pretty good guess based on what we saw in the latest episode.

Zebedee DuBois 02-13-2012 07:37 PM

When they were in Atlanta, they were careful not to get any walker blood or gore on them. They painted it on overcoats so that they could walk through the horde and escape. I don't recall when the decided they could be more less careful about getting fluids on them. Obviously, the close quarter bludgeoning is going to produce spray, though they don't always show it on our protagonist's clothing.

Perhaps this is one of those things better not scrutinized in order to allow the story line to continue. Lots of zombie physiology doesn't make logical sense.

I didn't think the daughter was turning into a walker. I thought that was just their ploy to have to get Rick to search for Herschel (to have her go into shock). But maybe I'm wrong. Maybe she is turning.

Did these people never watch Zombie Land? Double tap bitches!

I just rewatched the last scene in the bar, and I'm convinced the only person in there who wasn't a wild idiot was Dave. His social game was doing really well until his fat stupid friend Tony took a piss in the corner, and then threatened to outright kill everyone, giving away their whole devious plan. Rick let himself get positioned between the two guys, and he let slip that there was a farm at all. Glenn just sat there, even though he was armed, and Herschel led them all in to this mess in the first place by running off into the zombie- and psycho-infested wasteland because he wanted some alone time.

It was only Rick's reflexes that let them get out alive at all, much less without anyone getting shot.

yeah that thought never crossed my mind either....but it's a very interesting premise. be interesting to watch that play out..... I'm skeptical it's gonna go that way, even though it's a cool ideal.

as someone already mentioned.....I too thought it was really kinda silly and unrealistic (I know I know...how realistic can a zombie show be right?) when that girl sat on the tailgate next to the dead zombies (dead zombies...what would that be? the opposite of an oxymoron) with an empty passenger seat in the truck....nobody would sit there.

as for cleanliness....there have been several times I thought that was going to be an issue.....like when that black guy cut the shit out of his arm on the highway, I was thinking he'd get infected throught that giant cut.

There was a mirror behind the bar where Rick could watch fat Tony behind him.

Dave was too good of a character to kill off so quickly.

Um, a zombie is a walking corpse. You don't handle decaying flesh with bare ****ing hands.

It's a show, I get it, but come on.

Seemed like a waste of a really good actor.

Maybe they can pull a deadwood and bring him back as someone else with a beard.
