Studio politics suck so this is as close as I'm getting to a Hulk flick.

I also like them blending the serious with the comedic - this director is perfect for that.

The poor Kiwi has to balance a very popular Hulk story, a very popular Thor story, a lead in to Avengers 3, and pumping life into a franchise that so far has been one of the most bland and forgettable.

If he pulls this off he'll be the next James Gunn...

I love that one review blurb:

This film is a glorious carnival of nonsense.
That's pretty much exactly what I'm looking for based on these reviews.

I cannot wait to see this movie.

I know it won't remain at 100% from the critics (there always has to be those one or three contrarians just to get noticed), but man it's rare to see 100% from the critics.

Got two tickets for opening night... I'm actually really enjoying the long Marvel arc up to Infinity War.

Thor Ragnarok

Given the hint that Thor: Ragnarok co-writer Christopher Yost recently dropped on Twitter, no one in Asgard will be safe when the third Thor movie opens on July 28, 2017.

Let's be honest, Thor, Loki and Heimdall are safe. Everyone else is fair game, though.

The more trailers for this I watch, the more I'm thinking screw this movie... its starting to look cornball as hell

Yeah, it has been compared to Guardians of the Galaxy, but most people are saying it is really a good/fun movie and really pretty funny, but yeah.. probably a bit cornball.

I don't mind.. a little cornball and taking itself lighter is better than the other Thor movies. And it might have the best adversary we have had in some time in Hela.

I just got back, and my first thought are that it was above all, fun. More than once I was edge-of-my-seat holy-crap excited, which I usually don't get at movies. I absolutely loved the Mark Mothersbaugh (!) score, and the use of music. A few plot points were under-earned, but that's a minor quibble. I like the places they took the characters, and the world-building was exquisite; there were also a lot of jokes, scenes, characters, and happenings beyond what you saw in the trailers. I put it about on par with Guardians of the Galaxy in both quality and feel, so if you liked that I think you'll really like this.

I keep hearing that but Hela destroying Asgard doesn’t sound light and fun.
