No. He got in a pursuit prior. Then went running into the cabin. I don't think the hostages ran with him haha

Maybe he is really good at enlisting Stockholm Syndrome.

Let him starve if you have to. Shut off the water.

I mean shit standoffs happen quite frequently.

what happened today doesn't

I will give you that they could have waited out a day or so but since he had no hostages you could make an argument either way.

The best way to get him out was to smoke him out and is a common practice in standoff situations.

We don't know what was going on at that point. He could have been trying to surrender, likely not, but burning the house down doesn't seem like something that is protocol

Please show me where it says in the San Bernardino County Sheriff's policy does it say you cannot burn down a house? I'd bet you it doesn't.

I agree the fire is unheard of. But trying to surrender? The guy was killing cops at any given opportunity. And yes, I know the ****ing department is corrupt and several of their officers are corrupt and bad apples.

What! Like tunnels? If they mean like a door that opens up to the outside then I would hope the cops having the place surrounded would still cover that. This is just surreal.

Or...you can't. Mythbusters proved that bullets don't cause explosions/fires.

In this scenario I think he got what he wanted.

I can see that he possibly wanted them to kill him.

Out just doesn't seem right that they burnt the house, while not knowing for sure if anyone else was there.

Look at what has happened in this case. Everything.

The blue truck, the black truck. The women getting shot.

Now today.

No sense

Yep this is 100% correct.

Setting a house on fire is standard practice?
