I would try to sign Foles to a incentive laced deal, and then make Romo the starting QB. If Foles starts 5 or more games, he gets $5M more that year, or something. There are enough teams clamoring for a starting QB that it was probably too difficult.

What people aren't taking into account with Romo is every time Romo got hurt he tried to come back too early. That is who he is. He's a gamer. He wants to be out there, to a fault. He's had an entire year for his back to heal. They thought Peyton Manning would die if he tried to throw a football, then he went to Denver and had 1.5 great years left in him.

Chiefs are now 2nd to land Tony Romo per Bovada at 7-2. Denver is 1st at 3-1.

What about a swap for QBs? Dallas only has Sanchez behind Prescott. Why not trade for Smith. You've got a decent backup.

Because Dallas is stupid and buys everything on credit.

They've restructured Romo twice and that just pushes dead money into the rest of the contract.

The media fabricated the Romo bullshit. Smith has gotten nothing but support from the GM, HC and owner. They have said publicly he's the starter and we have no reason to think otherwise especially when they say it more than once. If they said nothing the rumor would hold more weight.
