Unfortunately I didn't get to see the game today, and missed any and all coverage of the blackout, and any other wonderful things said about how terrible the Chiefs/Pioli are/is. Are there any pictures of the crowd or maybe a ratio of black to red fans? And anything else that was discussed today that is significant.

You can choose to hate me for it. But, having Chiefs fans show up to Arrowhead in all black attire with minimal red color and black face paint is not only disrespectful to the team, it's also giving the false impression that you're Oakland Raiders fans.

spanky 52 11-19-2012 05:07 AM

I would never choose to hate you or any Chief's fan, regardless of their beliefs. but it's obvious you have shit for brains.

"but it's obvious you have shit for brains."

That totally doesn't sound like you hating on me, does it? *facepalm* I guess the ones who agree with this thread believe the only method of response to a team that has sold out is to do it right back to them. Very mature, NOT!

Understand that when people jump your shit for this post, the very last line is what's going to get their attention. That's a bigger insult than any you will hear in return. If going to Arrowhead didn't feel like attending a damned funeral, folks wouldn't have to dress like that's what they were doing. Period. If people choose to take that a different way, well it would help if they had their facts straight. I'd say they should get a clue.

So wearing my black chiefs t-shirt, my black chiefs sweatshirt, and my black Gonzalez jersey is disrespectful to the team and I look like a raiders fan?

'Disrespectful'?

Are you ****ing kidding me? Is Romeo suddenly my father? Is this a group of men that have risked their life for my freedom?

How does 'disrespectful' even come into play here? These guys are just football players. They're grown men playing a kid's game for vast sums of money. That's it. They're little more than carnival workers on a grander stage.

They're just guys.

The only respect they're entitled is the standard 'basic human dignity' that you offer to the homeless guy on the street or the waiter that brings you your soda.

Showing up to a football game dressed in black doesn't do anything to interfere with that and this franchise hasn't done anything to earn any more than that.

In the end - you're the problem. You and people like you are why owners like Jeffrey Loria and Clark Hunt can and will continue to scalp fanbases without concern. You'll come and lap up whatever 'product' you're given and criticize anyone that demands otherwise.

If you want more media attention and want to do something good then SOC members should give/donate their tickets to a children's hospital(s) for the Carolina or Indy game. Continue to blackout the other home games.

Not a bad idea. Buy a hundred of those really cheap tickets. Give them to a bunch of poor kids and then dress them up in black.

Old Dog 11-19-2012 10:41 AM

Make a bunch of poor/sick kids sit through a Chiefs game? They're already having a rough time, why abuse them further?

Hey dumbshit... let's elaborate on this "disrespect" you speak of.

Is it disrespectful for the Chiefs to charge fans premium parking and ticket prices and put forth a team that is 1-9?

Except they went on to say they understood why the Chiefs were confiscating the signs. Because they had the website on them and SOC sells stuff on their website. WTF? There is a donate button, but I don't see anything for sale.

Does anyone know if the Chiefs can refuse access to the stadium for wearing, say, a black Chiefs uniform?

Having people black out Arrowhead is awesome, but it would be even more awesome to see the stadium nearly 100% empty with maybe a few dozen fans in black.

It's not listed in the rules. They sell black jerseys, so that would be pretty ironic anyway.

Well they just can't do that. There are going to be plenty of people who wear black Chiefs gear, opposing team black gear, or just people who wear black that aren't even aware of the SOC movement. Too many variables to resrict access for black clothing.

Silock 11-19-2012 11:19 AM

How about this instead of signs:

For the next game, map out a few sections of seats and just hand out blank sheets of white paper. When these signs are held up, they spell "FIRE PIOLI" in large letters. This is a large undertaking that I don't really know how to do, but I don't think you'd have to do a million seats or anything to make it visible.

The plus side is that they can't confiscate blank paper, and it's a really visible contrast against empty red seats to see that message that large.

gblowfish 11-19-2012 11:23 AM

I like the idea that every body bring in a candy wrapper and drop it in the stadium. 40,000 candy wrappers might get Clark's attention....

Unfortunately I'm afraid something big is going to have to come to the surface for the nation to pay anymore attention to KC. A GM rumor, a management scandal, a potential coach peaking interest, Pioli coming out of the closet... something bigger than a bunch of Midwestern peasants getting upset.

I'm really late to the game, but it's becoming too annoying to ignore at this point.

TL;DR, but what is the goal/point of "Save our Chiefs"?

Stanley Nickels 11-19-2012 12:51 PM

This may have been (and likely has been) proposed before, but could we schedule a mass-walkout? It'd be great coverage for the network, and the stadium would be left looking like a preseason game was being played. Imagine if all the people yesterday who wore black (and therefore implicitly approve of the SOC movement) left en masse. That's a staggering amount of people leaving, and now there'd be even more empty seats. It'd be great to do it immediately following the national anthem, so as to eliminate any confusion as to our point.

Brooklyn 11-19-2012 12:59 PM

Has anyone from SoC started thinking about organizing a field trip to NYC in April 2013? I would say at this point it seems likely that Pioli will be shitcanned, but it wouldn't shock me in the least if he is given an extension (or Clark makes good on the extension that's already been signed in secret). Radio City is only about 6,000 at capacity so it might be hard to get a lion-share of the tickets, but the other side of that coin is with such a small crowd, you have a better chance at standing out.

I would love to see the ESPN or NFLN broadcasts when Goodell gets up there for the #1 pick and Pioli doesn't select a QB. A Radio City packed full of Chiefs fans going ballistic and calling for Pioli's head would be pretty priceless.

And if he is fired/Chiefs take a QB in the first, that would be a pretty sweet payoff to be there live and finally have something to cheer for.

I think we need to take up a collection and send the leaders of SOC to the draft, so they can bath in the sweet rays of light when the Chiefs do what they whould have done years and years ago.

Screw that. We've already called for his head. If it doesn't happen then it's over, and I can't imagine any Chiefs fan wanting to subject themselves to attending one of his drafts in-person. I won't give a rat's ass what happens with Crennel or who we draft or sign.

And you'd leave only the True Fans sitting there which would look bad for the movement. The best thing about yesterday was the fact that in the 4th QTR.....it was the SOC followers who were still there.

That was absolutely what yesterday was about as it should have been. The SOC stayed while the RED fans left.

I agree that it would look bad. It looked much better yesterday when the red left and the black largely stayed until the end.

I'm glad other people noticed that. I didn't want to bring it up. I don't consider myself to be a vindictive person but it sure felt good looking around as those final seconds ticked off and seeing about 90% black shirts left in the crowd. After hearing all that crap from the "true fans" all week about wearing red, it was a cool thing to see that the true fans were in black.

I have heard Keitzman and the guys on 610 all mention this. Looks like just about everyone noticed it.

Josh on 610 is a damned idiot. Still keeps saying not showing up says more than what we did yesterday. The other guys are trying very hard to show him the light of this movement.

The SOC folks are the true fans. They want to see their team get better. They want to rid their team of the trash.

The "Deb's" who disagree with SOC simply want to eat BBQ outside and have something to do on Sundays. Whatever team is out there is cool with them if they have an arrowhead on their helmet. They could not care care less how good the product is.

Congrats SOC. You are demonstrating to the "other" Chiefs "fans", as well as the rest or the country what a real True Fan is.

Oustanding!!
