Anyone doing anything cool with whiskey cocktails? So many better choices are on the market compared to 5 years ago. I'm really enjoying Mahattans as cooler weather sets in.

3/4 oz Sweet vermouth = Vya
3 oz rye or bourbon = varies
2 dashes butters = Angostura
Cherry = Lyxardo

Great ingredients make great cocktails.

First time I ever had Knob Creek was a few months ago. Put me on my ass after a few drinks whew.

i usually go through a couple of 4-6 oz pours when I drink it.

I'm an old fashioned guy. If I'm making one at home I always go with Woodford as its what I mostly keep. I like a rye if we're out for drinks or dinner.

I had a fantastic rye in chicago a month or so ago at gibsons with a steak. I can't for the life of me remember the brand though.

My close friends dad growing up always drank old charter and coke so I grew up on that.

Those Christmas box things are always legit. They had a sweet glenmorangie one at the store yesterday I picked up for a buddy's xmas gift. May have to keep it for myself.

I'm also a big old fashioned fan. Bo you make them with Woodford bourbon or rye? I like either depending on my mood. Luxardo cherries seem expensive, but they will elevate your whole cocktail and a jar will last a long time.

I have not had the Russell Reserve, but your recommendation carries weight so I'll hunt down a bottle. I have the Bulleit 10 on the bar as well and I completely agree. Fantastic.

I haven't actually seen that yet, but I love me some High West. Their Campfire is one of my must haves on the bar at all times. They do some interesting things with American whiskey, so I'll always give their stuff a chance.

Usually at home I just do woodford. If we're out and about I'll go rye.

When in Texas do as the Texans do. Liquor store named Specs has a bourbon called Texas Reserve. It's pretty good for it's price point.

You've earned yourself a nice sleep.

Drinking 3 good Manhattans, use your one-hitter, then take a double dose of Nyquil.

You're going into a little coma. You'll wake up for the game tomorrow anyhow.

Went with the whiskey.

Already drank 2 Grant's Scotch, on-the-rocks, 10 oz. tumbler. Feel fine, even though I know a third one will be painful.

Yeah, I struck out at Wal-Mart and Hy-Vee. I think I am going to check out the Lukas Superstore since it is relatively close to me (the one on the Missouri Side).

Worst case I just get him a bottle of Knob Creek, but I know he would like the glasses so I want to get them if I can find them.

I've heard a lot of great things about Lukas liquor. I usually go to Royal but their bourbon selection is kinda disappointing.

A co-worker of mine got in a lottery at one of the liqour stores here in Wichita and scored a bottle of Pappy 15 year.

Thanks for the tip. I had given up and had stopped by Hy-Vee in Raytown and was just going to by a regular bottle....they had none on the shelf so I asked the gentleman working....turns out all they had in the back were gift sets!

My friend loved it.

I have only drank bourbon every now and again, but I am thinking I may have to try some different ones in 2017.

PVW is a result of clever marketing, not from being the best whiskey. Is it good? Yeah, it really is. Is it the unicorn they made it into? Hell no. I'd love for you to check back with your thoughts on it though.

Very, veeery close to what I came up with... doubleshot of JB cinnamon over rocks, fat squeeze of "little fake lemon" juice and then nuked 1 tblsp sugar in 1 tbslp of water to dissolve and added it to the drink with a healthy stir

Oh man, I've never liked whiskey this much

:( sincere apologies, my preference is beers and clears like rum and vodka... whiskey of of any kind has left me in some bad situations, embarrassing situations in the past, reerun time... it used to turn me into a fighting hillbilly Scotsman

But tonights mix is incredible... lemon, sugar, watered down with some ice? damn man its gooooood

Totally mellow and loving it

Only 3 bottles left. One 07 and two 08's. I left an 08.

I went to another Safeway the next day and they had corrected the error.
