So, you’re saying he has some “Mighty Mouse” in him?

Boy, I hated him. Those were some bad years.

Statistically for 2018, supposedly. They did include that qualifier. Seems Ramsey lost his mojo after losing to the Chiefs. :)

Apparently, you aren't a good QB if you don't have it.

The play of the CBs was hindered by poor safety play. Safeties were of little help & seemed to be out of position more often than not. Scheme was an issue too. Hoping the new coaches (and hopefully new safeties) will raise the boats of all the CBs.

I think this is true. I also think we still need to upgrade the position, with 2 new guys, either two high picks or a high pick and a FA.

He has literally NEVER had multiple pass interference penalties in a single game. Not once in his entire career. He has had a single game with multiple holding calls (2 against the Jets in 2017; he had 3 penalties total that whole season).

The amount of shit you people have to flat out make up to cover for the fact that you simply aren't paying attention is laughable.

100% agree. My hope is that the Chiefs pick a CB with their first pick. Whether at 29 or possibly moving up. Just so long as they find a legit starter and don't sell the farm to get him. Having a legit starting CB on a 5 year rookie deal can't be overvalued in my opinion.

How many were called and not accepted?

ILChief 02-15-2019 09:02 PM

I like Fuller and Ward better. Those two plus a hopefully high pick and new defensive coaches should make our pass defense plenty good

I was obviously exaggerating on the actual penalty statistics.

Paying attention? To that defense? Hell I fricken walked out the damn room when that garbage was on display. You deserve a medal for "Paying Attention" to that hot mess. I'll leave that up to you guys.

Hopefully that's not the case anymore.

I also think the Rams didn't use Peters right. He's more of an off-man corner than press man.

This defense needs a true #1 corner, a stud MLB that can play sideline to sideline and a couple safeties.

If we add a true #1 CB, that pushes the other guys into their comfort zones and the whole defense will vastly improve.

If we add a true #1 CB along with the other pieces I mentioned, this team will win the next 5 Super Bowls.

You'd have to see the actual game by game splits on those cherry picked stats to see how good Nelson actually was.

Like if he gave up a 56 passer rating to crap Josh Rosen and a 96 passer rating to Jared Goff, he's still kinda crap. Still gave up 800 yards. If he gave up 100 yards to the Rams and Josh Reynolds and 20 yards to the Bengals and Tyler Boyd then yeah I mean still not a good player. I'd like to see if he was getting beaten like a drum by Big Ben, Brady, etc. Heck even Bortles put up 430 yards on this defense.

They played some BAD QBs that still chunked for a lot of yards because they were down big, and had some terrible completion percentages because of constantly throwing. Is it because the corners actually stopped them? Or just bad QBs being bad QBs that had to throw a lot against Mahomes.

Of those 825 yards given up how many were on 3rd down conversions? How many where in the red zone? How many of the yards directly led to points? There are so many variables. If that completion percentage is buoyed by Derek Carr, Case Keenum, Andy Dalton, Lamar Jacksons of the world and the catch rate is by most turd 3rd WRs he had to cover then it might be fools gold. I'd really like to see his matchups. Like was covering Tyler Locket all game or some turd like David Moore? Did he draw Mike Williams, Tyrell Williams or crap Travis Benjamin? Did he get beat like a drum by Julian Edelman? He's going to get a nice payday and go to another team and draw some stud coverages and you will see how good he is then.

Here you go, 2018 games sorted by passer rating. Some notable games in there:
  • Held Brady to 82.9 passer rating in week 6.
  • Held Rivers to 60.4 in week 15.
  • Held Goff to 68.8 in week 11.
  • Held Big Ben to 95.6 in week 2.

I couldn't agree with DJ more on Nelson, he's an above average but non-elite corner who I would be happy if they worked out how to retain without paying what he could get in the open market for.

I'd probably go up to $6m for him, but I think he gets closer to $10m and he's just not worth that.

EDIT: Hmm img link didn't work, did I mess it up? Screenshot is here https://imgur.com/a/kj9A1zz
