If Michael Porter Sr. is the hire that makes us even remotely relevant again and gets 4-star+ kids to use visits to come see us (and seriously, we have some elite facilities), it won't bother me one bit. They have to get something to get back off the mat and if this is that thing, so be it. None of this happens with out MPJ and with him in the fold, we could've easily accelerated the rebuild by 3-4 years. That's nothing but a good thing. It's not a finish line - Cuonzo has to capitalize on that momentum. But it's a hell of a good start. |

Not to mention if MPS gets all of his sons to go to Mizzou, shit that's 4 years of 4 star recruits in the bag. |
The only caveat being "unless said recruits father is La'var Ball, who is a monumental prick."
Because as big a fan of Lonzo as I am (kid sees the floor like Nash), his dad simply ensures that he's not worth the effort for a college program. You're just tools in his scheme and you're not going to get the return that you think you will. |

If we can pull Knox as well that would ease my worries quite a bit. Porter Jr is straight up nepotism, but Knox would mean there was something else, whether it be Martin himself, the facilities, whatever else.

It's not the easiest, most direct path, but those kids with just enough rough edges to their games to need 3-4 years in college are going to be better than any 1 and done by their SR years. That's why NC just won the title - they brought back most of last year's squad and it showed in all those pressure situations in the tourney. Roberts re-upping is a great sign. That's a guy that had very few ties to this team and had every reason to re-open yet didn't. He and his family loved what they saw here and stayed. If Cuonzo can get a handful of good 4-star recruits every year, he can have this program as a perennial Sweet 16 threat and at that point you're just a few lucky bounces from getting where you want to be (which is all you can ask in college basketball, with its midget 3 point line and whistle-happy officials). |

Later, he goes on television and tells one of the national guys (maybe Steven A Smith?) that the HS coach is bi-polar and an addict and he's going to have him fired. Like I said, the guy is just a complete one who sucks the penis. |
