I hate to say blousey, that sounds really gay,NTTAWWT, you need a 50/50 tee, 50%Poly 50%Cotton. Others may call them 'vintage tees' - I'd recommend checking out Marshalls for Alternative Earth brand, solids, or Armani Jeans tees (be careful here) - Lots of gay to work through to find 'dope' - also try to find one that's subtle, they're there, but comb through gawdy and gay to find smooth, there will be at least three answers there at the Armani Jeans store, also w/ AJ their clothes absolutely run small - so upsize.

Yeah, but they get all the grandma's in a rage.

Wearing the Mephisto's to work today and they have this little 1/4" wide, 1 1/4" long bump on the bottom of the shoe right in the middle where the heel is that is kind of uncomfortable/unsteady on a hard surface. On carpet they're comfortable as hell, but I bought them for walking outdoors and on uneven, cobblestone streets. They will be returned this weekend.

Yeah I want some casual stuff and I swear that most the shit on MFA looks ****ing stupid. I don't know how that is in.

HonestChieffan 01-10-2013 10:12 PM

Cabelas. Great mens clothes for casual. Khakis are top drawer, mens dress shirts are a steal

Shogun 01-10-2013 10:18 PM

I wear these jeans

http://www.ae.com/web/browse/product...tId=cat5920083

http://www.gaudydesigns.com/ae/images/menjeans.jpg

says they're $40 but they go on sale quite a bit in store and online and you can often find them for about $25. Doesn't have to be AE. Boot cut jeans just look good. IMO.

As for Shirt. This is very broad. Depending on what you're in to the most and what you like. I normally just go with a pair of those jeans and a T-shirt. Usually a Nike Dri-fit, Royals shirt. Plus its different because I live in Kansas and you live in California and our climates are much different so obviously styling choices are different but I'll put down a few things and if you like where I'm going ill post more. Pretty much Bro-wear.

Can't go wrong with the Dri-fit. So comfortable and loose, no matter the weight.

http://c-product.images.fansedge.com...22-20774-Y.jpg

I like shopping at Kohls because you can always find something on their many many clearance racks and they carry my Cargo Shorts that I love. Which is another thing. Check out Sonoma Cargo shorts at Kohls. Very comfortable and cheap and they look good.

Also Old navy has some nice clothes that won't break your bank either.

Button up plaids are in right now, and so is layering.

Ha, this thread is absolutely hilarious. A bunch of 30-50 year old men from the mid-west giving fashion advice. 1999 called, it would like to have it's Sketchers and cargo pants back please.

Also, the Brooks Brothers links are absolutely ridiculous. $400 for a sweater vest Mmmmmkay! If you can't come out of Target/Ross with a pimp outfit you don't have style and paying 10-20 times as much for a sweater isn't going to change that. It's mostly about being able to match the right colors/style/proper fit, also dressing age appropriate but within current style is important. I am in my 30s so I don't wear skinny jeans and flat-hats, but I do make sure to pay attention to current trends and add pieces that aren't ridiculous.

To the guy who lives in SD who posted the atrocious old man leather boat shoes...WTF dude? You live in Southern Cali... it's Vans, Sperrys, or flip-flops for you son.

Also, REI is only fly in Colorado. That shit won't pass on the coasts. Guys from Colo crack me up, your standard issue black North Face fleece has probably gotten you laid here, but that magical power stops at the state line.

From a shirt perspective, I would start with a few basics since you are going to need to completely revamp your wardrobe following your weight loss.

Go to J Crew or Gap and get a handful of solid long sleeve t-shirts. Go to Express and get three solid button downs; white, black, and one that matches your eye color. You can wear these with anything from jeans and casual shoes (but don't wear tennis shoes) to a suit and tie. You can start to mix in less generic styles later as money allows, but start with these basics.

For pants, go to Banana Republic and get a couple of pairs of slacks. I don't like khakis much, so I would recommend finding some of the dry clean only styles with the nice linings inside. They're going to run $100-$150, but they last forever and can periodically be found on sale for half that. (Khaki pants don't tend to age well from a construction standpoint, show dirt/stains, and really aren't as versatile as a lot of guys think, so they wind up looking like dorks because they pair them with something gray or black.) One light gray and one charcoal gray pair of dress pants will go a long way.

If you need suits, Banana Republic is good for those, too. Just don't wear your suit pants when you aren't wearing your jacket, or you will wind up having a suit that doesn't quite match over time.

Hah. I just looked down. My shirt actually has black buttons... so that must not be the exact shirt. It's not something I'd normally notice, though. ;)

The shirt is actually kind of a light grey with some hints of blue.

Also, the cardigan isn't that EXACT one either. Mine is navy with some blue trim that matches the blue laces on my boots.

I love the fitted Express button downs, but I wish they were just slightly shorter. It's tough to find a button down that is long enough to stay neatly tucked in that doesn't hang too low when untucked over jeans. These work, but they're just a little longer than I'd like.

Hell yes. I realize not everyone looks good in v-necks, but DaKCMan AP rocks 'em.

My wife bought me this one V-neck that is the softest freaking thing I've ever worn. Sadly... it's also almost transparent and the V plunges down to between m pecs.

On occasion I'll come sashaying out just before my wife and I go out, pretending like I"m going to wear it out. She always rolls her eyes and sends me back to the the closet to change.

Wear it as an undershirt.

Yes. That's what I do. Usually wear it under sweaters. But I think it's ****ing hilarious to pretend like I'm wearing it out as my only shirt. My wife doesn't think it's very funny, though.

Eh, since I've already got the ghey on me might as well contribute:

I'm all Ed Hardy, all the time. Jim Isray and John Gosselin are icons.

Ok, seriously, I'm more of a basic items in classic cuts and colors kind of guy for the most part (exception is I've got a pretty large collection of vintage western shirts); I'm not too trendy, but will add a few items each season in a trendy color to mix in. I'm more about the details of making sure I'm simply, but properly accessorized and matched. I just try to avoid looking like the mooks I see regularly in flip-flops and dress pants/button down shirts or people who don't know how to properly match socks and/or shoes to trouser. I'm not usually the best dressed guy in the room, but I try to be presentable.

I usually go middle of the roadish quality (like Banana level) off the rack stuff shirt and trouser wise, I prefer french cuffs for dress shirts (don't wear them much). I'm also v-neck guy when it comes to tees as long as the neck isn't too deep. Crew neck is just too pedestrian because like I said, I wear mostly solids in basic colors. 99% of the time I'm in Vans classic slip-ons.

I do have a pretty big weakness for watches and briefcases, which is where the majority of my "fashion" budget ends up. Honestly, I want to look decent, but I'm more concerned with spending my money on my other hobbies.

I'm just here seeing what the cool kids are up to.
