That was a crazy year for hurricanes. Three of them passed right near me in Gainesville ( Charley, Frances, and Jeanne ).

I'm in Miami this week working. My employer is not going to give us the day off if it hits and expects us work outside during any hurricane, but I will probably take a vacation day to get out of this place on Thursday.

Those are the ones I was referring to, whereby I just left my home covered in wood boards that whole season. It really was crazy.

Unless you work for FPL, that is just nuts, but he will likely change this tune as it gets closer.

If that's the path ( and it could still change) looks like the southwest part of Florida up through Ft Myers will receive the brunt of it AND it doesn't even look like SC would be a good place to go, though it would weaken by then.

Some of those Caribbean Islands better hope they're still above sea level after old Irma comes in for a visit.

I had to work outside in the last one that hit Jacksonville in October. It's definitely stupid because if I am at work in these conditions then I will just sit in the bucket truck all day like I did during Matthew.

Well that sucks! At least Jax was just skimmed. Didn't it wind up being more like a tropical storm?

Think I may fly to New England and stay with family?
