That sure as hell wasnt some quicky, joking blurb about this... its a full on NEWS story... for me to say wow, doesnt even come close to covering it.

Having him on the news was one of the best moments so far.

Great clip, thanks for posting.

So a friend called today to tell us he's going to the 11/18 game. Wants to know if we'd like to come with. My husband and I are torn. To pay money to see a franchise that we are angry with seems a bit counterproductive. On the other hand, if we make the drive down from Iowa and go to the game with our friend, we can help out the blackout, as we would totally get some shirts for that one. Tough choices. Right now, I'm leaning towards not going as I just can't get behind paying for parking, tickets, the 4 hour drive down, and the incidentals. Why should I pad chunty's pockets?

Talk me into it or out of it.

Where did the tickets come from? That money is probably already in the coffers so if that's your primary reluctance then come on down and be seen.

Thats why I buy my tickets from stubhub. I just don't feel like I am lining Hunt's pocket that way. The money was already there to begin with and I didn't pay anywhere near full price.

JFC.

BossChief 10-30-2012 01:05 AM

Clark has written the checks. Pioli has given them to the wrong people.

120 million in contracts to Tyson Jackson (57 million) and Matt Cassel (63 million)

Scott Pioli let Carr and Orton walk in the same offseason he restructured Tyson Jacksons contract in a way that he will make 22 million this year and next.

[x]
4/21/2012: Signed a two-year, $21.97 million contract. The deal contains $4 million guaranteed, including a $2.5 million option bonus. Another $500,000 is available through playing-time incentives.

How is that even possible?

That RIGHT THERE is PROOF that Clark has given Scott Pioli a ****ing blank check to run this team and Pioli is clueless as to how to go about building a winner.

The guy makes a terrible pick taking the guy and then, doubles down on the fail by restructuring him for more money. All while letting a superior player (Shaun Smith) walk for PEANUTS.

The guy makes a failed trade for Matt Cassel and doubles down on the fail by not even
attempting to sign or draft an upgrade to the pos. While letting a superior player walk for QB peanuts.

...

I posted this in another thread, but thought it deserved a place in the Pioli fail thread for the media to see. Pioli tried to slip this re-structure by during the draft because he knows he is the only GM that would sign a turd like Tyson Jackson to that kind of extension.

007 10-30-2012 01:10 AM

And who will he double down on next.

Both Connie Jo and Dave (the canadian) I consider friends. I have bumped heads with Dave over Chiefs stuff many times, but in person we have gotten along famously. Connie Jo recently was one of the few who congratulated me personally on the birth of my son. With her, I dont even try. I accept her as a good tailgating friend, and a good person, but you will NEVER gain one iota of ground with her, and there is no use to try.

yeah, I have met them both in person and they are great people. I just got tired of butting heads with them on the forum and finally left.

When I go to games, I try to keep my negativeness in check. I root for the team. Doesn't mean I support their decisions though.

Hammock Parties 10-30-2012 05:54 PM

The Pioli Fail Facts have been updated.

Please note that I have changed 3-15 against playoff teams to 3-14, due to the Chargers sucking ass. Ravens and Falcons should still qualify.

Also, we are 3-11 in our last 14 home games.

Congrats on the birth of your son. Cool feeling, huh? I love it. I gained tons of ground with Connie. AFAIC, I buried every one of her arguments. She won't even respond any more. I mean, it was a lot harder than getting Pioli fired but almost as rewarding.

I see that a lot of fans don't wanna blak out arrowhead because the sea of red is traditional. What if we was to wear our jerseys inside out. That covers up the logo and the player and you still have that glimmer of red.

I think this movement would get more fans involved. Turning a jersey inside out would be a good idea imo

Would that make any impact?

007 10-31-2012 06:32 AM

Red is red. This has to contrast and black does that perfectly.

Mr. Flopnuts 10-31-2012 06:43 AM

Keep in mind also that the message behind this blackout is that we, as fans are in mourning over this team. They have no heart, no soul, and they seem like they've lost desire. Going to Arrowhead these days feels like attending a funeral. Black is the perfect color to make that statement.

In58men 10-31-2012 06:52 AM

Well how many fans will be willing to turn there jerseys inside out? All the people that are opposed to wearing black might be willing to do this. Pictures and media will be the impact. It'll definitely be noticed in the stadium. The camera gives close ups quite a bit of the crowd. I think it'll bring in more people. I'm not against the blackout, I'm just trying to think of ways to get more people involved.

I'll be at the game tomorrow, you can bet that my jersey will be turned inside out. It shows embarrassment and disappointed. It's inexpensive. Eventually we are going to need more ideas. We still have a lot of football left.

But you have to look at the movement "collectively" per say. From a distance black contrasts against red better than anything else. Media isnt going to take pictures of 1 dude with a black shirt on. Its a movement, therefore the more "group"-ish of a photo they can get with more people wearing black-the bigger the effect is going to have. You go flippin your shirt inside out and instead of getting the "oh wow, these fans dont mess around, they arent happy", you get the,"so they woke up way too early and dont know how to dress themselves". From a distance it doesnt matter if your shirt is on right or wrong, inside out or not, red is still red.

So by wearing black states that the fans aren't "messing around"? There's several black Chief jerseys being worn inside Arrowhead in the first place. Media doesn't necessarily have to be the ones taking the pictures. It could be anybody, big tailgate parties with a group of people. If we take several pictures and put them out there the media will catch on regardless. I got the idea from a SF/Det game when Det went 0-16. I remember seeing 4 fans wearing them inside out.

Point is...it will no be the Sea of Red that it is traditionally. This will signify something. Turning a jersey inside out (while a appreciate the notion) does not have the same visual effect of a bunch of black jerseys. It would have the effect of covering a tooth with white tape. No difference. Cover the tooth with black tape...noticeable.

Weird analogy I know, but it IS Halloween.

Weird analogy I know, but it IS Halloween.

Understandable, but are we trying to black out every game? Is this going to be a one time deal? If so, then this is just another idea of "rebellion", if that's the correct term. We have 8 more games left. If we can't get any more ideas then I think this will be good. Not everyone will have to spend money because most fans have jerseys already.

All the fans that are against wearing black might consider the option to wear their jersey inside out. Then we just grew bigger.

At this point it's a single game, but they'll already have black shirts for other games if we go that direction.

it's not like people are renting black shirts to wear, sheesh.

I'm just trying to get the "traditional" people more involved. Most of the fan base are against wearing black because they believe the sea of red should always be there during game time. Sheesh, pretty simple to understand.

I'm just going to go ahead and say what a few others are probably thinking but are too nice to say. The "turn your jersey inside out" is a dumbassed idea. Even if they don't want to buy a new shirt for one game, how many folks don't have a black jacket or coat they could wear over the jersey.

Maybe I'm the only one thinking this, but I highly doubt it.
