I am soooooo stoked for the card this weekend. I didn't even realize Cody Garbrandt was on the card until yesterday... Also, super stoked for Stephens vs Magomedsheripov ... pumped to see Askren compete... YES

This is like one of those cards from 10 years ago before everything was so watered down. Lots of big names and 2 title fights.

I used it for the Canelo fight back in December and then watched the Bellator show from Hawaii as well. It worked just fine for me.

Everyone made weight today, and no one looked like an extra from the walking dead, so this might happen.

Thinking about getting it for the Jones fight

Ronda Rousey is gone, Conor McGregor is not going to be a champ anytime soon, and the heavyweight champ (DC) while a good guy, isn't a draw unless Brock Lesnar is in the picture.

So, this actually might be one of the most high-profile, compelling UFC fight cards of the year. I think I will put together an official thread for this event when the early prelims start.

The UFC goes to Wichita this weekend for the first time.

Wednesday

7:30pm - (Fightpass) - Island Fights 53

Live from.... Ft. Walton Beach FL which is NOT an island at all... oh well, anyway it looks like these Wednesday cards are a thing now. This card is very mediocre for a local promotion, but there's nothing else on this day.

Saturday

10am - (Fightpass) - Glory 64

Kickboxing

1:30 pm - (Fightpass) - Cage Warriors 103

Top European B-League, this is a pretty good card for this level.

4pm - (ESPN+) - UFC Fight Night, Lewis vs. Dos Santos

This is a very top-heavy card with a good main and co-main event, a couple other names, and not much else. But, if you live in or near Wichita, it'll probably still be a good time. For the UFC overall though, this card is below average until the end.

11pm - (Fightpass) - Absolute Muay Thai

Muay Thai

Nice little card on right now

ESPN and UFC just announced a massive change to how numbered PPV's will work, starting immediately. (The ESPN deal also got extended 2 more years)

From now on, UFC PPV events will ***ONLY*** be available on the ESPN+ streaming service, and only if you subscribe. (Subscription is $5/month or $50/year). So the days of just flipping over on your remote and buying it are over, but there are ESPN+ apps for pretty much every device.

The price for UFC PPV events will also go down $5, back to $60. (So I guess if you typically only buy 1 PPV a year, the price doesn't change, but you have to get ESPN+ for the month, get the PPV, and then cancel ESPN+ to do that). They are also offering a bundle deal for $80 to get a full year of ESPN+ and 1 PPV.

ESPN paid a "license fee" (currently unknown) to get the UFC to do this, but that license fee must have been huge because now fans with bad internet service will have to go to Buffalo Wild Wings.
