I think Elway has exactly what he wants. Kubiak will run the offense and basically report to Elway while Fangio will run the rest of the team.

Like there are so many HC options that check all the boxes while being a young offensive minded coach.
Elway was probably smart here, at least in his own mind, in that he gets to keep an offensive coach that he believes in and gets a very good defensive mind that can run the day to day stuff.

So this is Elway's fourth head coach hire right? Carl has 4 in 20 years. ElFraud has done it in what 7-8 years? LMAO

This has Elway keeping his guy entrenched with the team and all the stuff that bore down on Kubes and made him a short timer will be run through Fangio.

This seems like it could be a decent short term fix, but I’m not sure beyond that. Elway still has to find a QB, still has to find good players much more than he has so far.

Since the departure of Manning, Kubiak/Elway will never let control of the offense go to anyone else. After Elway's John Fox fiasco with Fox ignoring Elway's suggestions on play calling during the season and prior to the Seattle SB spanking Elway knew he could never hire anyone who would not dance to his music. Elway trusts Kubiak and no one else, hence why they continue to hire D coordinators. Elway especially needs "yes men" in the HC position because Elway will not relinquish total control of the team specifically the offense to anyone who will not follow his offensive mindset. Elway is "the king with no clothes on"(when drafting offensive players) and still doesn't realize he is "buck naked" offensively speaking. QBs - Bust, OL-Bust, TE-Bust, RBs - Bust(Lindsay was an UFA:D) WRs-Bust-until Courtland Sutton:shrug:

I'm all good with the Fangio hire because Denver will continue to have a good defense which only sharpens PM2 even more and Denver will continue to suck offensively.:D
