610 sports just reported that the Kansas football game against Texas Tech was the lowest attended football game in big 12 history.

Smart fans.

What are the chances that NWMSU outdrew Kansas Saturday (or whenever their last home game was)?

Oh shit, I didn't realize that. I recant my deletion of the post that Saul quoted.

Certainly not loyal, but the bandwagon type typically aren't.

They should change the name to "homestaying". They can break the record next year if they really focus on not showing up.

Agreed, way too many bandwagon fans in America. When Bammy can't even sell 1/3 of their student tickets, it's crazy to think Kansas ever could.

Saul Good 10-07-2013 03:23 PM

Sagarin ranked it as a sellout.

lol, the message was sent with Gill. Is it Weis' turn already?

Doesn't seem to be lots of faith from the fan base from those I talk to.

It's like anything else in sports - if the product sucks people won't show. If the product is superior they will. KU had to turn away 5,000 folks from a basketball scrimmage and a throng of angry people barged the doors knocking people to get in.

I do go back to your point though about TV providing too good a home environment to watch sports. Good or not I could not justify devoting 6-8 hours very often for a Kansas football game (4 hour games are too long + drive time etc). The NFL keeps it to 3 hours plus most fans live relatively close to their stadiums whereas college towns are so far away in many cases. Uphill battle for KU and I predict, many college football teams, to ever fill seats IMO regardless if they are good or not.

Northwest's stadium only holds 6,500, but I bet they travel more fans to their annual game at Arrowhead than Kansas did to their last trip there in 2011. :doh!:

Your team was 2-2. Your fans are a bunch of front-running pussies.
