Had a couple of glasses of wine while wrapping Christmas presents. Now sipping on a little Lombardi's Limoncello. Good stuff.

Laphroaig?

Edit: Actually Laphroaig doesn't have a 16. They do 10 and 15. Might have been Lagavulin.

Got some Boulevard Pale Ale from my boss the other day, and have had a couple tonight. I'll have a glass of The Macallan this evening to warm me on a cold Christmas Eve night.

Not a bad night...

I don't know how many times I've replied on this thread, but Rum and Coke again.

I'm a creature of habit.

Reaper16 12-24-2009 11:26 PM

I had a 750mL bottle of the 12% ABV Boulevard [Smokestack Series] Bourbon Barrel Quad to myself. I'm pretty well tipsy at this point.

Yetti Imperial Stout

A damn fine beer.

Reaper16 12-29-2009 06:32 PM

I think I'm going to go to a liquor store and pick up some beers from Jolly Pumpkin. I'm in a funky, Brettonamyces kind of mood tonight.

Fuller's ESB

For the review it got: meh.

It's ok on it's own, but nothing special.

I didn't make it out anywhere, but I did get my ****ing beer on tonight:

Allagash Curieux (an oak barrel aged Tripel)

Stone Smoked Porter

(both of the above are unavailable in MO)

and I capped it off with that old standby, Old Rasputin Imperial Stout.

thawk 12-30-2009 08:30 AM

Tonight (new years eve, eve) It will be Balvinie Doublewood. The entire bottle with one friend.

What the **** are you talking about? Since you're acting so petulant, seemingly over basic beer terms, I am going to post a post-NYE Reaper's Beer Fridge update to spite you.

7x Boulevard Bully! Porter
3x Bell's Rye Stout
3x Founders Red's Rye P.A.
1x Boulevard [Smokestack Series] Bourbon Barrel Quad
The following 5 beers are all Saisons:
1x Boulevard [Smokestack Series] Saison
1x Boulevard [Smokestack Series] Tank 7 Farmhouse Ale
1x Goose Island Sofie
1x Jolly Pumpkin E.S. Bam
1x Jolly Pumpkin Bam Biere
And finally, 1x 5 liter mini-keg of my favorite beer, Bell's Two Hearted Ale

BigOlChiefsfan 01-01-2010 01:03 PM

Pappy Van Winkle

It's good, but this is probably the only bottle I'll buy of it. I'd rather have 3 bottles of Wild Turkey Rare Breed for the same money.

Reaper16 01-05-2010 08:31 PM

Drinking a bottle of delicious Boulevard [Smokestack Series] Tank 7 Farmhouse Ale. What a gorgeous saison. Seriously, look at the lacing of this beer. Shitty pic, but the lacing looks like jets of rain cresting down a windowpane.

The "lacing" looks like a bunch of dudes jerked off into the glass and left peter tracks.

However, Boulevard does make good beer.

Cannibal 01-08-2010 08:53 PM

Drink of choice tonight is Boulevard Pale Ale. Lets just hope no dudes jerked off into the batch like the above picture.

NewChief 01-08-2010 09:05 PM

Ordered some badass pesto veggie pizza tonight, so I had to get a beer. Just picked up a 40oz of budweiser to drink with the pizza. Switched to Maipo Merlot for the rest of the evening.

Last night had the Schneider/Brooklyn collaboration beer called Hopfen-Weiss. In theory it is a hopped-up weizenbock but it kind of just tasted like Fruit Loops in milk. Weird. Followed it up with that standby of the Russian Imperial Stout style -- Old Rasputin.

Reaper16 01-19-2010 12:25 AM

So Bell's HopSlam, perhaps the best beer commercially available in MO or KS, comes out on shelves tomorrow. Flying Saucer in P&L district in KCMO had a keg on-tap tonight. In addition, they had two firkins of HopSlam on cask which is a whole other ballgame in terms of mouthfeel, cask ale being unfiltered, unpasteurized and mostly uncarbonated (no CO2).

So I drank tonight:
1x Bell's HopSlam on cask
1x Bell's HopSlam on-tap (CO2)
and capped off those two 10% ABV beers with the 8.5%
1x New Belgium Fall Wild Ale

Lumpy 01-19-2010 04:43 PM

I don't know what my drink of choice will be tonight, but I do know it will be consumed in mass quantities.

Reaper16 01-20-2010 10:58 AM

I'm in Columbia, MO. Last night I checked out the new Broadway Brewery. The pizzas were decent enough and pretty creative. The beer, though, was unexpectedly nice. Their pale ale was nice and hoppy, their seasonal strong ale had a rich, luxurious aroma, and their nitro-tap porter was nearly world-class.

Tits McGee 01-24-2010 12:40 AM
