yuck i never remember to drink water or gatoraid but I do always have some lying around. I try to exersize or sit in my hot car to sweat it out and drink gatorade. Or try to take a large shit anyway to get the poison out.

Rum and orange Metamusil with a squeeze of lime and a sprig of mint.

Blvd and bourbon now that we lost.

It wasn't as impressive on-tap as I would have liked. But if you have the chance to buy some in bottles I would recommend it. I really enjoy a fresh bottle of Matilda; lovely fruity flavors going on in that Belgian Pale Ale.

I recently did a vertical tasting with a fresh '09 Matilda, a 2008 Matilda and a 2007 Matilda. The beer changes dramatically with age; the 2007 tasted like a Belgian-style Amber (think Ommegang's Rare Vos) instead of the Belgian Strong Pale that it is fresh.

BTW -- fresh Avery Maharaja on-tap is amazing. Sooooooo good. If you're in Kansas City, you need to visit Flying Saucer before it is gone. If you're in Columbia, MO -- then go to Sycamore (you know, that pricey restaurant). Sycamore constantly gets good beers on-tap, and right now they have Maharaja (among other things).

Three Floyds Dreadnaught [Imperial India Pale Ale] -- one of the top 5 Imperial/Double IPAs in the world. No, you can't get it in MO or KS. You have to have a hookup from Indiana, Northern Illinois, or Eastern Wisconsin.

That's the base beer for their Saison-Brett. Tank 7 is a fantastic Saison. it in not available in stores, as it its draft only.

Into blender -
Bacardi frozen Fuzzy Navel mix
Fill rest with ice
1/2 can of Bacardi Rum
1/2 can of Malibu Rum
1 - 2 oz shot glass of Triple Sec
1/4 can of half and half

Blend and serve!

Dang...i absolutely loved it! So are the smokestack series bottles for sale, is there anything close to tank 7 bottled and in stores? I'll have to order it more often when i go out, i love how they have a limit on the glass hehe.

Try the Smokestack Series Saison. It will be available everywhere. Its the same style of beer as Tank 7 but not the exact same recipe. Boulevard are masters of the saison style.

I almost exclusively drink them. Typically have a traditional with 3 olives. Picked up a jar of jalapeno stuffed olives and threw one in it tonight. Talk about a curve ball.

Not going to lie, I'm pretty traditional in my Martini's but this was not bad.

I guess a classic beer had slipped under my radar for the longest time. Well, no longer. I had Schnieder's Avintinus -- the original weizenbock (a wheat dopplebock). It was one of the very best beers I've ever had. Holy shit.

Hoptober is decidedly good. But I would say Boulevard single wide IPA is much better.

They're very different beers, Single-Wide and Hoptober. Hoptober is an aggressively hopped blonde ale; its basically an American pale ale without caramel malt. Single-wide, being an American IPA, is a whole lot hoppier.

Land Shark 'island style beer'...my first try & i kinda like it...light body & sweeter than most.

I like Land Shark. Very refreshing.

I was going to go real High-Hat with an old favorite, Tuchers with a twist of lemon...but decided to compromise my zeal & wallet, its definitely light & refreshing, not a very hoppy beer.

I think theres a bit of diff between the two, Shark isnt as strong, cheap or 'pissy'.

But somehow, anytime i'm near either ocean, its exactly what i want, it all started in Del Ray Beach Fla, '88...
