I remember it being rather 'smoky' inside.

It was, and ZZ Top was fantastic. Opening act was Loverboy if I recall...not my cup of tea but they had a guitarist who was a real showman.

That's too bad. As everyone here keeps saying, they were great live. I saw them twice - once with lynyrd Skynyrd and once with ted Nugent on the beer drinkers and hellraisers tour - and they stole the show both times.

ZZ Top's First Album is a constant play for me.....Brown Sugar is the best!

That was a trivia question.

My most memorable ZZ Top concert was the 1975 Halloween night at Kemper Arena with Rory Gallagher. Great show with the gals dressed up in revealing costumes.

Radar Chief 07-29-2021 07:43 AM

One of my all time favorite bands. Saw them twice, once in Wichita and then again in Nuremberg while I was stationed in Germany.

58-4ever 07-29-2021 08:59 AM

dang... I was supposed to see them in about 10 days... I wonder if Willie Nelson will still play.

scho63 07-29-2021 10:33 AM

Cheap Sun Glasses is one of the best road trip songs there are.

scho63 07-29-2021 10:34 AM

Saw them at Brendan Byrne arena in the late 80's with a date.

Good show

That was good. And Stern's comment at the end. LMAO

Of course he does.

Integral part of a great band. Arguably the best rock and roll trio of all.

With Rush and Cream being the other trios? Unless I’m forgetting someone.
