Did the Antonine Smallpox Plague stop the gladiator games in the Roman Empire, NO! :P

We must carry on!

It shouldn't be effecting them at all. 99.9 percent of us will be just fine. No reason at all not to have quarter capacity at outdoor games...minimum

We're all going to be dead from this in a month or two anyway and the earth will be nothing but vast wasteland, so why not let there be football until our immune systems cytokine storm us to death??

What a shituation.

Just go ahead and make a week 18, put games there that have these issues moving forward. Probably gonna need a week 19 too.

Pasta Little Brioni 10-01-2020 07:43 AM

Probably the right thing if more are getting it, but if this is postponing games that's not a good sign.

A lot of "experts" are saying to move the games to the end of the season and push the playoffs back.

No ****ing way I want the Chiefs to have a 3 week bye before a playoff game.

backinblack 10-01-2020 07:47 AM

next step is to see what happens with the Raiders(and Bills probably, who they play this week) in a week or so, after that party they were at.

Sassy Squatch 10-01-2020 07:48 AM

People are proposing they play week 7 with the Ravens moving their bye week from week 8 to week 7 and then Steelers and Ravens from week 7 instead gets played week 8. Makes sense.

Exactly. It's going to end up being a punishment for the #1 seeds if they don't get COVID.

Honestly... if I had to bet, we will he playing in a week 18 game too. Whether it’s the Chiefs or an opponent who has an outbreak, it feels more likely than not.

That would be MUCH preferable to adding multiple weeks to the end of the season.

I don't think you set the schedule based on some sense of inevitability.

Right now, you have to try to preserve the integrity of the existing schedule as much as possible. If it doesn't work, by all means go to plan B.

But it would be a real shame to penalize a team for working to get the #1 seed and then have them sit for a month because they were fortunate enough to avoid COVID.

That makes sense.
