Haven't had the chance to cook them up yet. Going to find a good recipe for smoking them.

I fish a little stream about 200 yards from the Missouri River. As the water gets lower, it's down about 2 feet now, I can't keep the turtles off my bait. 2 nights ago I caught 4 softshell turtles, 1 snapper and 3 cooters. Damn turtles will bite on all my baits

The running joke around here when a fish hits, seems pretty large, and then throws the hook without being seen is, "It was a turtle."

Because of its often strong odor, it can be confused for a fish. Despite its smell, and it can make for some good eating if prepared and presented properly.

Well, I just bought a Sage Z Axis. I don't know how I could justify spending that much on a fishing rod, but I've wanted a newer nice fly rod for a long time.

Let's hope it cools off soon so I can go use it.

$600 + for a fishing rod?

The trout better be lining up for miles to sacrifice themselves on that sucker!
