After Mathieu I predicted 23 at worst, 17 at best. Now, after the draft and the bulk of free agency, I'm thinking we're looking at something more along the lines of 17 at worst going into the playoffs, 12 at best.

We're still super-thin at CB. Ward is a big question mark and one injury throws us into replacement territory.

Ward balled out last year. I understand that he could be a Marcus Cooper but with our DB coaching staff I don’t see that happening

I'm excited about Ward too. But 2 decent CBs, a question mark, and nothing behind is not a good plan for the season imo. We were in nickel or dime what - 70% of the time last year? Just guessing - would be interested to know.

With Spags who knows what we will run. Fuller Ward and Breeland ain’t bad. We got Fenton who’s a unknown and Tremon Smith whos depth at best. Still need 1 more CB and that’s where I see Mark Fields making the team.

The CB roster right now is not the final CB roster that we will be going into the season with. And, consider all of the personnel shuffling that was done as late as November last season.

Cap casualties and roster cut downs are coming. Veach will bring in a CB. Hope he finds a LB who can cover.
