I've never had a bad bottle from the Angelina label. It might be a few bucks more than Yellowtail ($12 - $15 where I live), but still an great value. I'll drink cheap beer and cheap booze before I drink cheap wine.

Also, I'm not a merlot fan, but that has more to do with personal tastes.

I'm not drinking any f'n Merlot.

German Smoke house here...has that and other German Beer.

Had a Weirstiener Dunkel today. I'm glad Oktoberfest beer is starting to come out.

My drink of choice tonight?

Nothing - cause my poor dad is stuck at the airport due to United Airlines pilot 'sick out'. I fully expect I'll have to go pick him up in a couple of hours when they tell him he's not flying out tonight.

Bummer.... What is this Fly thing, I stopped it long ago.

KCChiefsMan 09-14-2007 02:44 AM

I just got bored and put this drink together, don't try this because it's nasty! but I believe that wasting alcohol is a sin so I will drink it anyway.

Smirnoff Vodka
Barenjager
Cranberry juice

I'm having trouble putting this down

ottawa_chiefs_fan 09-14-2007 01:49 PM

OK - almost 4pm Friday - time for a pint....

Either a Westmalle Trippel or a Maredsous 10...

These things kick off the evening phenomenally if any of you have ever had them - very very good....but pack a punch and a WICKED hangover if you have any more than 6 or 7....

talastan 09-14-2007 02:26 PM

Probably a Blue Moon, or Boule Wheat. Followed by straight whiskey. (Crown preferably.)

After these last two weeks of shit I've had, I'm enjoying some crown and cokes when I get home :D Oh yeah baby!!

Drinking a Dogfish Head 90 min Imperial IPA. One of the better domestic bottled beers I've tried. Outstanding.

They make like 18 different beers. I'm sure I've tried at least half of them. I have enjoyed every single one. Can't go wrong with a Sam Adams.

That's the one that I don't want to try. I'm not interested in cherry flavor in my beer. Don't think I would like that at all.

I hear the Light is good.

Oh, and I agree on the Cherry Wheat. A beer with fruit kinda scares me.

Lzen 09-14-2007 09:13 PM

I just saw a Sam Adams commercial while watching the OSU vs Troy game. Apparently, they now have 21 varieties. I will have to pick up that Brewmaster's 6 pack.

The light is good. It is the most flavor in a light beer that I have ever tried.

All of the Sam Adams sampler packs I seem to find have the stouts and dark beers that I know I probably won't like. :(

I tried the cream stout once, and nearly spit it out.

Lzen 09-14-2007 09:20 PM

I have tried one sampler. It had Heifenweizen, black lager, and honey. All 3 were fantastic.

Bowser's wife had some chocolate beer last weekend. One of the last things I remember was standing out on the patio and trying it. I was a little tipsy already, but I do remember thinking it wasn't too bad.

I'm beginning to think you don't really like me when I'm drunk. I think I've more than apologized enough for any inconvenience I might have caused. Believe it or not, I learn lessons. No hard liquor at gatherings. I got a little tipsy at the BBQ in April, and you still liked me then, didn't you? I'm fine when I stick to beer.

Phobia 09-14-2007 10:04 PM

Nah, you were fine at that point. It was later that I was not liking you much.

FWIW, I think this Pale Ale is the best one I've ever had.

Did I corrupt your wife? I remember her trying one shot.

Trying to remember what I've got in the fridge at home. Bud Light, Wheat, Beach Bum, and I think one Pale Ale. None for me tonight though. Stuff to do tomorrow.

shit, I'll just google it:

"Green and clear bottles do little to protect a beer from skunking, and while dark brown bottles are much better they are far from perfect. Because many of the best known imports come in clear or green bottles consumers have come to associate a skunky aroma with imported, often more expensive beer. That doesn't mean their brewers intended them to taste that way.

The brighter the light and the longer bottles sit in that light the stronger the skunky smell will be. Even dark brown bottles won't guard a beer from the bright fluorescent lights popular in grocery stores and many other beer retail outlets for very long. "

The skunking usually happens when it goes from being cold to being warm and back to being cold. they come in cans if you don't like the bottles, just sayin'

I've been drinking Becks for a long time and the only time I had some of it that was skunked was from a tap, because it had been sitting for a while.
