We'll probably never get this, since it's one of the rumored spinoff movies, but a great sendoff for the Rebels series finale would be the crew of the Ghost stealing the Death Star Plans.

So all this takes place before ANH? |

Chopper is ****ing awesome. When he threw the other droid out the hatch, I completely lost it....

Already looking forward to a potential Ahsoka / Vader showdown.
|
My god. We're getting the full ****ing Vader treatment with JEJ voice. ****! CAPTAIN REX!

Awesome
|
Holy. ****ing. Shit! Has anyone else watched the Rebels Season 2 trailer?
|
Captain Rex and his Clone trooper buddies living on an ancient AT-TE in the desert somewhere is just amazing.
Also looks like we're getting a ton of Ahsoka. |
This trailer for Season Two of Rebels is everything I expected from the prequel trilogy and more! It's just amazing.
And Rex! While I'm stoked to see him, how are they going to explain how he's still alive and why he isn't "programmed" to kill the Jedi, including Ahsoka? |

I need to buy more Disney stock. |
With the latest Force Awakens trailer and now season two of Rebels, it's clearly obvious that Lucasfilm finally gets what every fan has wanted from this franchise.
It's too bad we had to wait more than 30 years to get it but hey, better late than never. |
Aaaaaaaaaaaaand downloading season 1 in 1080.

honestly i only watched a handful of clonewars and that was years ago.. should i start there?
|

Then watch season 1 of Rebels. |
Almost forgot: HONDO.
Season 2 is gonna make me crack my face with grinning. |

Also, it looks like they're going to explore something I've expected since the beginning of Rebels:
Spoiler!

OH MY GOD
|
|
So far so good....
Good pacing, and it hits the right emotional notes for a quality SW outing. |

How did Rex and the other clones survive? “George and I had several conversations about it…we had everything mapped out. If you watch the Season Six episodes on Netflix where Fives discovers the [Order 66] chip, Fives tells Rex…I’ve always felt the truth can break any spell.” |

So today, someone asked Dave Filoni if Darth Revan would eventually become canon. Filoni responded "Anything is possible".
I had no idea who Darth Revan was, so I did a web search. As those of you that are familiar, Kylo Ren looks almost identical to Revan. I also read a passage in which Revan led an extremely long life. Pure and utter speculation but could Andy Serkis be Revan? |
Quote:
And if Revan can be considered canon, then Darth Bane has a chance at this thing? Revan was consumed with Bane's knowledge (or was it the other way around? Where is SDW when you need him?).... |
Quote:
But IMO, Kylo Ren and Revan look to be identical. http://fc00.deviantart.net/fs70/f/20...ta-d40sa04.jpg |
Quote:
There are pretty strong indications that Serkis is playing some ancient Sith, though. Plagueis still makes the most sense, to me. |

And this

It was also mentioned that his lightsaber is a homage to the past...

Darth Revan
http://img2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb2...Sith_revan.jpg Kylo Ren http://img3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb2...inquisitor.jpg Take Filoni's comments into account, this turns very very interesting.... |
And just because Obi-Wan was a vindictive prick at heart....

Kylo Ren is supposed to be a n00b.
Serkis' character is CGI/voiceover. I think it's more likely they just drew inspiration from Revan for the design of Kylo. |
Revan IS the old republic.

Didn't Palpatine tell Anakin in some roundabout way that he killed Plagueis, or am I completely off base?
And here is Darth Plagueis. Long face, I suppose the mask could conceal it... http://img1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb2...gueisNSSGF.jpg |
Quote:
But since Plagueis supposedly discovered the secret to eternal life, maybe he's not really dead, and Palpatine was deceived. Everyone should read the Darth Plagueis novel, because IMO he's a far more interesting character than Palpatine. And again, Serkis is playing a CGI character. Kylo Ren (masked man) is the apprentice. |

:D |

At this point we're wandering down speculation paths akin to Sidious and Palpatine being different people, as was rumored before III. |
Well like I said, this along with Filoni's words make this very intriguing. Plagueis obviously learned the art from a former Sith master, so they could take that particular arc a dozen different directions an bring on a dozen new characters for the canon. Would be pretty frickin cool to see some of the highly regarded stories about ancient Sith and Jedi made canon.
Entirely too early to speculate, but perhaps a possible spinoff to Old Republic stories (and earlier) brewing? Could we get that lucky? |
Quote:
An animated Old Republic cartoon would be awesome, although I suspect a post ROTJ cartoon is more likely. Thirty years of backstory to fill in. |
|
Oh man, so I just found out that the voice actor who plays Hondo in Clone Wars and the upcoming season 2 of rebels...also voiced Don Carnage of Talespin fame back in the early 90s.
http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/...20140730202210 I love Disney. And I THOUGHT I recognized that voice. Plus, Hondo is basically a Weequay ripoff of Don Carnage anyway. |

Also, am I going to have to start avoiding this thread for Star Wars Ep 7 spoilers, too? Can we just keep all of those in that thread? |
Quote:
To be honest, I'd be disappointed if there aren't. |
Quote:

Plagueis is quite dead. Only Bane learned the ritual of essence transfer, and no other Sith beyond him ever did it.
|
Can't wait.

While I'm happy that LucasFilm wiped the entire EU because so much of it was goofy, IMO, it's sometimes fuzzy figuring out what's official and what's not. |
Quote:
Why are they still using the Lucasfilm logo? Is Lucas still involved somehow? |
Quote:
|
Quote:
Now, there's crossover between the companies, such as Marvel's new Star Wars comics, which are canon, and it wouldn't be surprising to see a Star Wars character in a Pixar film, but they each independently run under the Mouse House. As far as George's involvement, from my understanding, they use him as a sounding board quite frequently but I don't think he has an official position. |

Thanks! |

The negating of Revan and Bane from Clone Wars? Yep. Don't **** with a great thing. Let it be, and move on. Whatever back-end they're trying to move in to this with Sydow and Serkis will unlikely have anything to do with TOR. As it should be, IMO. |
Quote:
But the costume design of Kylo Ren and Revan are nearly identical and I'd be surprised if that was a coincidence. http://starwars.wikia.com/<wbr>wiki/Darth_Bane |
Quote:
Bane is just something else entirely. His three series novels by Drew Karpyshin are just flat-out ****ing amazing. A lot of people cite Zahn or Matthew Stover as the "it" guys in that realm, but Drew just eats their ****ing lunch with his Darth Bane. If you're on a long trip, I highly recommend. |

This is a great series. Really hitting all the notes. Just about through with season 1. |

well this thread just got a pick me up.

Just finished season 1. The last scenes with Tano and Vader.....
Oh shit. |

I can see why SW fans with kids love this. It's got enough edge to keep an adult entertained, and it's got the classic SW mythology and personal character-themes that kids should be learning.
Cash money, Sir Mouse. |

It's getting hard for me to tell! |
Please tell me there aren't going to be ep 7 spoilers in here Dane. If I am going to start watching this I don't want thing ruined for me.

I would imagine it would be like the integration of Agents of Shield with Captain America 2. They ran side by side, integrated perfectly. Agents of Shield led RIGHT UP to the movie, so if you saw it opening week, nothing was spoiled, and it picked up right where Cap 2 left off. It was AMAZING. So, I hope it's like that, except this doesn't run concurrent to ep 7. |
Quote:
I won't personally spoil anything but that doesn't mean that Rebels won't. |

Although I plan to go to the midnight showing, a late afternoon show and probably a Saturday or Sunday showing as well the opening weekend. :D |

Absolutely love watching rebels with my 6 year old.
Very much looking forward to a potential Vader / Ahsoka showdown in Season 2. Have they announced when Season 2 will air? |
Quote:
I doubt I'll be able to digest the awesomeness of Episode VII in one sitting, so I'll likely watch it again, later that day. I'll see it few days after, especially since the kids will be on Winter Break by that point. I remember seeing the TPM the first time. I could barely follow what was happening, not only because it was convoluted, but because there was so much screaming and cheering with each new character entrance. I think I saw it four times in the first week. |

6 episodes into season 1 of Rebels. Can't say its been great but it is good. Don't know that I will go back and watch all of Clone wars though.
