Evan Dunham has a pussy eyebrow

Bwana 09-25-2010 09:08 PM

Bullshit call on that fight.

booger 09-25-2010 09:08 PM

yep, all he did was cut him.

Buck 09-25-2010 09:10 PM

Well Sherk won the first, Dunham won the 2nd. That is clear.

I think the judges put too much credit into take downs. Sherk took him down in the third but they were both back on their feet within 10 seconds.

booger 09-25-2010 09:12 PM

good fight no matter the call on the win

Buck 09-25-2010 10:46 PM

That last fight seemed fixed.

Bwana 09-25-2010 10:51 PM

That was one of the worst fights I have ever seen. Cro Cop needs to retire.

Also. If you guys want an HD stream that doesnt get taken down ever, Xmeforums.com works amazing, I've been using it for a long time. Its $3.50 for a 24 hour pass, and $10.00 for a month pass. They show ALL MMA events in HD, as well as tons of other sports.

Just look at the Nogeuria brothers in 2003, and then look at them now. Perfect example. Also the same with Wandelei Silva. He had to have facial reconstruction surgery because of all of the scar tissue. All of those wars add up.

I wonder if they will end up like a lot of boxers and if they will suffer from dementia at a higher rate.

Too early to tell. Well, sort of. I did an interview for my website with Tank Abbot recently where he was acting all loopy and didn't know what was going on. We we're sure if he was just permanently ****ed in the head or if he was extremely drunk. Ken Shamrock is also a great example of taking too many dangerous blows to the head. Guy is a legend, so much of that effects their judgement and decision making abilities. It really wouldn't surprise me if in 20-30 years some of the hardcore vets end up with dementia. I know a lot of the original Pankration/Valetudo/Lutalivre guys because of the bare knuckle have some really ****ed up things wrong with them.

raybec 4 10-04-2010 03:55 PM

Three weekends in a row with top level shows, Diaz V Noons will be a good overall card, and then two UFC shows in a row, I'd say it's a good few weeks for MMA.

raybec 4 10-06-2010 07:45 AM

UFC announced Jon Jones Vs Ryan Bader on New Years, that will be a hell of a fight! I think this will be the real test for both of them, whoever wins it will get Shogun next.

Yahoo has them fighting on Super Bowl weekend and what about Rashard getting Shogun?

I think a more likely scenario is the Bader/Jones winner fighting the winner of Dragon/Rampage with the winner of that fight getting a shot at the winner of Evans/Rua.

Very well could be how it goes, I think it's all just amatter of time until Jon Jones has the strap.

I am looking forward to Josh Thompson vs JZ and Diaz v Noons, not a bad card for Strikefarce

TrickyNicky 10-09-2010 08:06 PM

A good card indeed. I led into this by listening to Joe Rogan's podcast with The Voice live on Ustream. It was hilarious.

TrickyNicky 10-15-2010 06:56 PM

UFC 120 is free on Spike TV tomorrow starting at 7 pm CST. Akiyama vs Bisping headlining a tape-delayed broadcast from the UK. Also Carlos Condit vs Dan Hardy should be fun while it lasts.

Awesome. Thanks for the heads up. I probably would have missed it.

Hug it Out Dan 10-15-2010 11:15 PM

cant wait for the Lesnar/Velasquez fight.

I think Cain wins unless Brock gets the fight to the ground(as always). Brock got exposed BAD in his last fight, Cain is a MUCH better striker and hes fast and accurate.

And Velasquez won't gas out ike Carwin did. Brock is going to have his hands full. Should Brock win, I think he rolls through Dos Santos, and it will be a while before he loses, or maybe until he fights Carwin again which would be probably Summer 2011.

While I agree with alot of this I'm just not sure that even if Cain keeps the fight standing that he's got the power to put Brock away... I mean Carwin was knocking the sh*t out of Brock and if he doesn't have the power to knock the dude out then who does. Carwin's got as much punching power as anyone in the UFC. Then again as you brought up Cain is much more technical and precise with his punches. So it could happen. Should be a damned good fight however it plays out.

JMO, but I don't think that a lot of the top MMA guys take the sustained punishment that boxers do. Yes, the individual punches they get rocked with are just as bad (maybe worse b/c of the gloves), but getting peppered with a couple hundred shots to the face would be far worse for the brain, I'd think.

You have to think about every time their head hits that mat, or any sort of jarring, I bet we see a lot of these MMA guys with some serious cases of of dementia.

That may well be the case. I'm definitely not an expert on MMA, but it just seems to me as though the fights are shorter and the number of blows or jarring impacts they take are cumulatively far less.

I"d imagine it's pretty rare for an MMA guy to have a 50-70 fight pro career.

Huerta is good but I'll wager that Alvarez manhandles him. Unless he has rededicated himself to a career in MMA.

TrickyNicky 10-21-2010 12:08 PM

From a few interviews, it sounds like he actually put the work in for this fight, and Alvarez has a tendency to trade.

Forgot to mention, Ben Askren is getting his title shot against WW champ Lyman Good.

I think so to. I still stand by my prediction of him beating Velazquez, but losing to Dos Santos. Junior is just the anti Brock. Great stand up and take down defense. He poses major problems for him.

Shogun 10-21-2010 03:39 PM

Roger is one of my favorite fighters ever because of his MT talents and his heart, he's also not afraid to throw down, i'll be pulling for him, but I got Alvarez because I think he has the speed advantage and the ground advantage, but I think it really could go either way.

Lyman Good vs Ben Askren is going to go to Askren, even though I don't like him he's going to likely absolutely wrestle**** Lyman from rounds 1-5 in an entirely boring Unanimous decision that you will immediately forget.

And Cain is gonna whoop that ass on Saturday. :D

I don't give a **** who saw it coming.

If Carwin doesn't gas out this same shit happens last time. The only difference is this time, Herb Dean actually CALLED the fight like it should have been last time.

Brock is a 1 dimensional do nothing who will beat smaller guys who can't handle his shoot. But as Cain and Carwin have showed, if you nullify his shoot, he's a ****ing do nothing fighter. Why people had their lips attached to his nuts I have no idea.

And that sir, is the difference between a guy who knows MMA and new ****s who don't know shit, but want to suck a on a guy like Lesnar's nuts.

Cain was way smarter than Carwin, yeah. Cain made sure that he landed good blows on Lesnar while Lesnar was down, whereas Carwin tried gassed himself out on a quantity of less-effective blows.

Some contact got made to Brock's head on an attempted takedown. Brock went spiraling backwards towards the walls of the cage. He was essentially out of the fight at that moment, though it took a little bit for his to be fully out. I thought the ref called the fight at the appropriate moment tonight.
