The last thing I heard about Prince was that he showed up at some random dinner theatre here, rolled out on stage unannounced to play guitar with the band for a number, then left. I've heard other stories from people who saw him on a flight or somewhere else or about him visiting local music stores in disguise and other stuff. A unique character.

The last time I saw him live was around 1997 at a VH1 Music Cares concert at the (then) Universal Amphitheater.
Sheryl Crow, Jakob Dylan and several other great live acts performed, with Prince closing out the show. I've been to a metric shit ton of shows, whether they've been in clubs, theaters, amphitheaters, arenas and stadiums and I've never seen anything like Prince in my entire life. He was way too young. Woah.
I was just thinking a month or so ago, that I hoped they'd go get him to do the SB Halftime again. Since, you know, they can't get anyone worth a shit. I never got too much into him, but he was ****ing legit. |
