So Mrs. Glorydayz bough me a "So you're going to retire" gift. It's pretty tasty..

There's a Super Bowl Champions and KC logo on that glass. I know it looks "classy" being white but you can't even see it with a drink in there. Wish they made these darker.

That looks mighty tasty!

A pleasant surprise of a gift from a scuba student. Saving it for my retirement (from my regular job) trip to Roatan to celebrate with some pretty good nectar..

Another 'cooler weather' suggestion. There are several brands that make 'spiced' dark rum. I have enjoyed all of them I've tried. Your Rum and Coke will have a nice punch, and I drink mine in a 'snifter' and sip it like high dollar whiskey. Not real spendy, a decent mixer for not much money - and I'm not really tempted to overdo it. These are all good things. https://www.liquor.com/best-spiced-rums-5079515

Just sipping on a little bit of Jameson's straight up out of the freezer.

BigOlChiefsfan 11-06-2023 08:45 PM

https://www.liquor.com/recipes/vieux-carre/ The ex was from NOLA and appreciated this cocktail, 'made right'. I gradually got all the stuff she liked for it and she always made me glad I'd fixed her drink right.

FIL was gifted this whiskey smoking kit from his job and has no interest. He drinks soda with his bourbon. Pretty cool little setup, made a hickory smoked old fashioned. Pretty good overall, will find what wood I end up liking best outta this little set

Titty Meat 11-11-2023 12:16 AM

Made a friend at my job who's big into bourbon scored me some EH Taylor. Drinking it now and it's the best bourbon I've had hands down

scho63 11-11-2023 09:57 AM

Thursday night met up with a former colleague from Amazon and had cigars and Oban 18 year at Fox Cigar bar.

A very nice evening

Not a drinker, but thought this would be a good place to share with those that are. Would anyone try this?

I'd be more than willing to try it. I'm becoming very fond of some of these flavored offerings.. Loke this one, man is it good..

Headed to a Christmas party tonight one of our friends puts on. It’s one the best parties I go to all year. I’ll mostly drink beer tonight, but will absolutely have a bourbon or 2 by end of the evening. My buddy is a Four Roses guy, so I’ll bring a bottle we can share (I like the single barrel).

BigOlChiefsfan 12-15-2023 11:16 PM

That Four Roses is a nice pour.

Pablo 12-21-2023 06:08 PM

I usually buy myself a nice bottle of bourbon for Christmas, but I was feeling a nice tequila ought to do the trick this year. Fantastic stuff neat. Don't know that I'll do much in the way of mixed drinks with this one. They built a new Bubbles over like 5 mins from me and this was their store pick. Bubbles on North Oak was always a favorite when I lived closer and had friends that lived over there.

It's a nice sipping rum without breaking the bank. I think it was only $34.

I picked up a bottle of this last weekend. Not bad vodka.

myselff77 12-23-2023 10:32 PM

In KC visiting family and need to pickup some beer tomorrow. What local brewers are worth trying out that I would find at the liquor store?

Have to go to brewery, but BKS in Brookside is really good. Roughly 63rd and Troost.

Pablo 12-24-2023 06:50 AM

KC Bier Co should be on your radar

I've been drinking Old Charter 8 year this week - good whiskey for the money, a little smoother than my 'regular pour' Evan Williams. But it's the holiday season! Tomorrow night it'll be Old Weller 'green label'. I'll move back to Evan Williams asap.

scho63 12-25-2023 01:49 AM

Picked up a bottle of Magistrate Sauvignon Blanc, Jagermeister, Dempsey's Irish Cream and Dempsey's Whiskey.

Didn't make it to Total Wine for my Obam 18yr, about 100 people in line at the store.

^^^^^^ Dudeeee nice. I have a sonic a couple minutes from me and buy 20 lbs of their ice at a time for like 6 bucks. I should look into that countertop model but I'm not mad at the current setup. Gives me an excuse to go to Sonic and pick up a Cherry Limeade like this morning.

Nugget ice life is a thing. I can't go back to my old ways. I am having a weak vodka/rasp lemonade in my sonic cup to get started.

RunKC 01-13-2024 03:34 PM

Having an aviation cocktail as well as a caipirinha. So good

scho63 01-13-2024 04:13 PM

You guys drinking those summertime drinks are brave.

I've been freezing my balls off all week in Vegas and cranked up the heat as soon as I got home a few hours ago.

I'm doing some scotch to stay warm.

That's a stud drink. I've been sticking with vodka and beer to maintain but when we win I see a nice bourbon drink in my future.

If I win one of my parlay's today I'll be buying a nice 15 year bottle of Macallen.

Savor your victories kids...

I downed 3 beers in the last 8 minutes of the game last night. No idea why.

If you can swing your current setup I'd probably just stick with it

This thing makes great ice and I'm loving it, but its a heavy beast so haven't fully decided where I'm going to keep it permanently. And it takes a bit to fill the bin, like an hour plus. So I run it on Saturdays and just stock pile the ice for the week
