His path to playing time in KC was MUCH clearer. He took the extra earning potential. And I think we knew he would and that's why we offered the tender. |

His age is priced into his contract. A 26 yr old Robert Quinn coming off an 18.5 sack season damn sure wouldn't be playing on a $12 million deal. You'd have an obvious hold-out situation. So if you want a guy with the UPSIDE that Quinn presents, you can either pay through the nose for it or deal with the age concerns. But I've seen plenty of DEs stay pretty effective in their early 30s. That doesn't bother me. What does is that he has some real up and down years and hasn't had back to back standout seasons since he was a pup. I think if you go ahead and average the guy he was from 2017 through 2019, that's about what you can probably expect out of him. Something closer to 9 sacks/season and steady but unspectacular pressure. In other words, you can probably reasonable expect something similar to what Von Miller did last season over the course of the year. If that's the case, would you rather save your pick and a few bucks, sacrifice the upside and sign Carlos Dunlap? Hard to say - I guess I don't have a firm opinion on either direction there. But we gotta add a veteran pass rusher to this roster. And like I said, I'd be more than happy adding two. |
Anybody pointed out that Ingram has yet to choose the Chiefs? Maybe the dude just wasn’t interested in playing here.

Jaelen Phillips had 17 games and 54% of defensive snaps last season with Miami. Emmanuel Ogbah had 17 games and 67% of defensive snaps with Miami. Frank Clark had 14 games and 72% of per game defensive snaps last season with the Chiefs. Michael Danna had 17 games and 48% of per game defensive snaps (Gone) Alex Okafor had 17 games and 41% of per game defensive snaps. Joshua Kaindoh 3 games and 23% of per game defensive snaps (Gone) Melvin Ingram (Chiefs) 9 games, 58% of per game defensive snaps and now have George Karlaftis, a health we hope Joshua Kandoh, and maybe even Malik Herring. Maybe a toss up but I think he gets more playing time with Miami Dolphins. |

I have no idea who's on their roster past their starters but simply don't care. Those 3 you just named as impediments to Ingrams playing time are the Jaggiest of Jags. If that. |

But i'm super ****ing happy to have that sixth rounder BACK. This year, not only have they added Karlaftis, but you have a healthy Malik Herring pushing for a backup spot, and I frankly think there is a near-zero chance we have seen the last addition to the DL. |
Veach himself said that he could make a “smaller type move” now or to wait till they get an extension in place for Briwn and that would open up enough room to make a “big move” and before he went into that, he specifically referenced the veteran DE market.
Him not willing to pay Ingram pennies is a sign he wants to make a bigger move. At least to me. I bet he’s focusing all of his time snd evergy to get that deal signed so they can make a move to set the roster. I trust that when Veach says something, it’s his intention and he has consistently mentioned the DE spot. |
He also said defensive end was "neck and neck" with DB as a position of need going into the draft.
They added 5 defensive backs in the draft and one defensive end. I'm guessing there's more coming, as well. |
