First two episodes of this have been more entertaining than the first two episodes of GoT.

my only problem with this show is that Rhaenyra is just dany lite at this point, and it's becoming annoying

Was the existence of Dragons and how the Targs became their "keepers" ever explained in the mythos?

Just like him telling Corlys that only he's allowed to talk shit about his brother. He's actually a loyal dude, just feels like he's been shit on. There are parallels to Jaime, except he's not simping for his sister 24/7. Still easily the best and most interesting character so far  |

you can stream it on hbo max

the black guy with the dreads kind of ruins my vibe. There shouldn't be blacks on the show unless they are building a statue dedicated to white people.

hopefully you find one. Annoying when you watch one show and it is on a pay channel

GoT with House of the Dragon is showing how you CAN take creative liberties effectively with Black people without HAM FISTING it in there. |

I was trying to be a cheap ass, but my GoT addiction wouldn't allow me to be that patient, lol. |

Along with HOTD, HBO is also releasing The Last of Us this year. |

Daemon is loyal to the pure Targaryen bloodline, whereas we have the Hightower family trying to weasel their way onto the Throne...basically hijacking it from a Targaryen dynasty into a Hightower dynasty. |

That is bad news. That dude gets shit right. On the screen anyway, the overall story telling I can't speak to but the best visuals and most of the best moments he was responsible for.
|
Hopefully it doesn't impact the show too much, but definitely not the best news.
I have full faith in HBO though, even after GOT (I blame that on D&D). |

This was totally all on D&D. Its been decided by the business, Hollywood and fans. It sucks that they wont even address it, apologize to the fans. |
2nd episode of this was better. I'll hang around until I don't anymore, I suppose.

Great episode
|
It's getting better. The third episode was the best so far.
|
This is getting quite good.

I'm getting in it. The flaws are softening, particularly Viserys. (Although his decaying fingers are gross as all ****. Jesus).
I'm ready for more. |
Who are D&D?
|
David Benioff and Dan Weiss
|
Show is really ****ing good. Look forward to more more more!

We couldn’t get a killing the Crabfeeder scene? I guess the guy couldn’t fight, just hammer nails and nod to his army…
|
I AM THE CRABFEEDER
|
From the preview of next week's episode they are really taking this in a weird direction. I guess Daemon shows back up to confront the king but ends up in a fight with Rhaenyra. Hidden to avoid spoilers:

There was no need to show that fight scene. We all knew how it would play out (except for maybe Twisted :D).
Seeing him walk out dragging his torso/head was badass. |
Man, I really like Viserys. He needs to get his shit together, but he is a decent enough dude.
|
Last night was pretty much a classic GoT type episode. Bunch of personal drama through the majority of it and then bam end with an epic fight.
|
I watch this and after episode 3 I don't feel dramatically different from how I did watching GoT. Will it be as good? Is it as good? Probably not. But it is eminently enjoyable? Absolutely.
I'm just crestfallen that the Creebfeeder didn't ascend to the Iron Throne. |

But this first season is honestly better than the first season of GOT (currently rewatching that too), and I have no doubt the ending will be better since it's already finished in the books. That's good enough for me. |

At least it's evident that it's not going to suck...that was quality fantasy entertainment.
Nice character development scene of the princess walking through the crowd with blood on her....had GOT vibes in that. |
This show has taken rather large steps up with each episode. Episode 3 was tremendous TV.

He's a hell of a lot better dude than Daemon, that's for sure. Quote:
I'm also not sure he is so easily influenced. Obviously he was manipulated into marrying Alicent by Otto, but Otto is also always in his ear telling him how to handle Daemon and he ignores his counsel all the time. He ignored Corlys' proposal for marriage to his daughter, he ignored societal norms in naming Rhaenyra is heir, and he's in the process of ignoring his duty to enforce a political marriage for Rhaenyra. He shows a lot of strength in making decisions all the time. I think his biggest issue is just being a people pleaser and often making the wrong decisions (or at least not the best decisions. |
The whole thing with the failed hunt, Viserys struggling to land the killing blow, and the white hart presenting itself to Rhaenyra all seemed pretty on the nose.
Is there any deeper interpretation there or is what everyone guesses pretty much what that represented? |
Quote:
But honestly I think it was done well enough. |
This episode felt a bit like child porn. Raehnyra looks like she’s 13 years old.

Uncle/Niece banging. GRRM is the ultimate perv.

As far as the episode, there is continuously more humor than I anticipated. And I won't lie, I was rooting for the 10 year old that waxed that dude. I'm here for that.
The incest bothered me more than the pedo stuff. It was kind of weird that Rheahnyra and Alicent were magically fiends again with no explanation at all. It is interesting that Viserys is finding strength and becoming the better leader as his body rots. He's about a million times more compelling today than he was the first couple episodes. I'm in. All the way in. At least to the point I'll give them the rope to hang themselves. |

In GoT if you are a Targaryen chick you get to go cowgirl style, the rest just get doggy and missionary.

the red witch was on top when she ****ed the soul out of that dude

That was the best episode yet.
Looks like the prologue is just about over and we get the big time jump next episode. |
Annnnd the wheels fell off ROFL
Good ass episode. They really did a nice job of building the tension. And god forbid have some subtlety. Even though the dress thing was a bit bash over the head, but whatever. It was good.
Spoiler!
I still can't get over how bad the carriages look though. Takes me out of it every time. |
