He's absolutely going on Friday imo

O.city 03-04-2018 02:16 PM

The hand issue would be problematic if asking Jim to rush the passer at Olb or wom thing imo but he’s def got a place

kccrow 03-04-2018 02:18 PM

May be going back to my Lorenzo Carter/BJ Hill 1-2 after the underwear Olympics...

It would be a solid combo

I really like Carter as an actual Tamba replacement.

kccrow 03-04-2018 02:28 PM

My boy DaeSean Hamilton put up a 6.84 3-Cone.

Yep, I've liked Carter for a long while. He's gotta be in the conversation at 54.

Frosty 03-04-2018 02:29 PM

With that speed, why couldn't Griffin play at safety, particularly box safety? He's supposed to be pretty good in coverage, so it seems it wouldn't be a stretch. He could fill Sorenson's role.

RealSNR 03-04-2018 02:30 PM

Just once I'd like to see the Chiefs draft a player like Griffin. I make fun of the "try-hard" douches all the time like Tebow, but it would be a REALLY nice change-up from the string of players we've drafted in the past to have a guy around who is THAT tenacious.

Again, just as a change-up. I want to see us just once not care about size, arm strength, or 3-cone time. Or, I guess... not care about possessing certain limbs. Just take a guy with this kind of motor and see what happens, because we so rarely do that.

And for ****'s sake. Griffin ran a goddamn 4.38.

I would totally take him.

kccrow 03-04-2018 02:30 PM

Courtland Sutton dominated the agility drills at WR and ran a 4.54 at 6'3" 218. I think he's the first receiver off the board.

As much as the chiefs are in nickel and dime I think he’d be a perfect fit for that. Like deone Buchanan

I'd have no problem taking him in round 4. I don't know if I'd take him higher or not, but there's something about guys that play with passion over guys that just run well in shorts and he happens to do both. I don't know, I'd maybe consider him the 3rd. Yeah, he's probably not a guy you can say for certain will get off blocks really well in the NFL and you know he isn't going to lead the NFL in interceptions, but he's a good player overall and at worst would be excellent on special teams (my thoughts on 4th round).

If Griffin can actually play in the NFL, watch our run defense problems decrease dramatically just because he'd play like a goddamn psycho. We don't have anybody like that currently on the team.

I agree with everything you’re saying but did Eric Berry die? Lol

O.city 03-04-2018 02:51 PM

I don't think Berry is naturally that guy though. I think he's developed into it more but he's more of a lead by example type it seems.

He shouldn’t drop below 54.

He’s a NT. I’m not worried about how he looked in shorts when I’ve seen the way he moves at that size on tape.

Not sure how I feel about Settle. Watched him work today and he didn’t seem to have good balance. His 40 and 10 time was slow but his 3 cone was solid for a dude that big. He had a 7.95 compared to Poe’s 7.90, so that’s encouraging.

I would be excited with him but he’s not my favorite DL. Probably the 2nd best NT after Vea.

Yeah I’m not sure on his actual upside

I like Payne more

O.city 03-04-2018 07:03 PM

Senat is a guy you'd bring to camp to compete for a rotational spot, but I think he's a bit undersized for a starting role.

I have to admit, I was shocked he didn’t perform much better, and if he played a different position I’d probably be more concerned. But I think it’s a blessing in disguise for us.

And yes, I think Payne goes that high for sure. He’s the #2 DT in this class.

I thought he might slip to the 2nd but doubt he gets to the chiefs

Senat seems to be getting A lot of love and I’ve seen him slotted in the 2nd as a Nt.

Dunno, the whole testing of Settle makes me u easy about him in the 2nd

I’m anxious to see how Justin Reid does tomorrow.

I think he’s another guy that can possibly slip to 54 and be a perfect match. I’ve been rolling with him or Settle in most of my mock draft simulators.

The dude from Georgia could be a great fit for the chiefs

Senat in the 2nd round is a major stretch. There's some upside with him, but I don't think he has starting potential in most schemes.

I don't think Settle had a particularly awful combine, but it wasn't a good one either and he certainly closed the book on a Day 1 slot. The film is still impressive and shouldn't be dismissed.

Tim Settle, DT, Virginia Tech
Charlie: Tim, the combine and the process leading up to the draft is more accessible than ever to fans. I have a lot people out there telling Tim Settle is my draft crush. What do you have to say out there to all the fans and folks that you have supporting you?

“I am not really that known out there. I haven’t been playing college football that long. There definitely are some people who can appreciate what I bring to the table and you know the fact that people actually support me and are behind me knowing that what I can do, that’s rare and not a lot of people can see it. I appreciate it. The people that do look into me, eventually they will see.”

Charlie: You have a lot of teammates here on the defensive side of the ball, can you tell me about some of them and how you guys support each other out here?

“I played high school little league with Greg Stroman. He was my quarterback in high school. He supported me in whatever I want to do, he always has my back. As far as Tremaine and Terrell Edmunds, we were the young guys on the defense. So we all talked to each to make sure we were all comfortable. Wyatt (Teller) I been working out with him since I have been at Tech. Going against him in one-on-ones, he’s been a big help and we teach each other a lot of stuff.”

Charlie: Have you spoke with Kansas City Chiefs at all?

“I did.”

Charlie: Formal or informal?

“Formal.”

How did it go?

“It went well. I enjoyed it.”

I doubt it happens though. With the 2 3rd rounders and 2 fourths they can do some damage for sure if it shakes well.

Lorenzo Carter

Carter would be awesome, but I think his combine pushes him out of reach especially with this current pass rushing class. May have to wait til next year to really address that.

I'd say Settle in round 2
Best Corner available
Griffin
Senat
Samuels

That's my 2-4 right now but I've done minimal looking at it.

NFL Media's Ian Rapoport spoke with one NFL coach who believes UCF LB Shaquem Griffin is now a fourth-round pick.

We love to hear this, and the fourth-round might be a safe projection. The conversation has shifted a bit from Griffin being a core special teams player to now potential off-ball linebacker. We have always thought he was the latter thanks to his closing speed and relentless motor.

I would get him with one of our thirds and not even blink.

staylor26 03-05-2018 10:17 AM

2. Tim Settle
3. R.J. McIntosh
3. DeShon Elliot
4. Shaquem Griffin
4. Dalton Schultz

Gaines?

Ah EJ. Thought you meant Philip.

Yea, I know a lot of people don’t want him because of his injury history, but I can see us settling for him if we don’t get any of the other top corners. I just find it hard to believe that we’ll count on Fuller, Amerson, Nelson, and a rookie.

This kid is so confusing to me. He’s shorter than 6 ft, he’s 225 lbs and he’s got pretty good speed for his size. Where do you play him?

Is he a Trey Burton like TE? Wouldn’t we use Kareem Hunt as that screen player?

I admit I’m really selfish looking at this bc the thought of Tyreek Hill and Keke Coutee on the same offense with Patrick Mahomes sounds absolutely incredible.
