Oh, I get it.

I was actually responding to your post, though I chose not to quote it.

Constant coaching changes are bad.

If Wade leaves they could be in trouble.

For the life of me the decision to move on from Fox was really bad.

No, not all of those guys are famous defensive coaching names uttered constantly on NFL talk shows, but then again, neither is Bob Sutton. However, all of them ARE experienced coaches who have been around the league for at least 15 years and came into their jobs with previous experience serving as a defensive coordinator at the NFL level.

And that's just from coaches in the 2016 regular season.

Idk, Fox was a crappy coach IMO. He had a loaded team, yet still got embarrassed during the games he needed to earn his money. The SB loss was cringe worthy. Didn't change any of his signals or calls when playing in the SB. Seattle was all over that shit! Rich Kotite prob could have got that team the the AFCCG.

Fox sucks. I can't believe that he didn't get fired in Chicago this year.

Elway only hires his friends for stuff, but I'm not sure how he knows this guy other than the guy going to college in Colorado.

But don't let that stop you from trying to convince yourself that Vance Joseph is NOT the next Jim Tomsula.

Jim Tomsula is the next Jim Tomsula.

That's how obscure he is.

Andy Reid's resume stands as proof of that.

He way well prove to be an abject failure, but I am not going to write him off simply because he didn't spend years proving himself as a coordinator.

Hell, proven coordinators fail almost yearly.

I hate it when mom & dad fight. [emoji22]

Sure i do, he got a token interview. No one else wanted to coach in that dump, so he was the hire. You're also a racist **** for comparing him to Tomlin without ANY similarities other than skin

Doesn't really matter if the coach is the new Tomlinson or not..your team let Brocklisberger go so you're out of luck

Lynch or Semen at QB, no Wade, a terrible head coach hire... when i said we own the Broncos post Manning, it's gonna be for a loooooong time

listopencil 01-11-2017 11:29 PM

I'm 'meh' about the hire. The guy is supposed to have great people skills. They picked that over Offensive prowess (Kyle) and pure coaching ability (Toub). We'll see what kind of staff he can assemble. Nothing has been confirmed that says Wade Phillips is leaving, and I hope he stays. They're talking to McCoy tomorrow and Vance Joseph has already talked to him previously about being his OC. Still, the biggest problem that they need to fix is that shitty O-Line. Fix the line or they go nowhere-other than 3rd to 4th in the division.

Buehler445 01-12-2017 12:44 AM

Problem with getting an OC (Kyle) in as HC is he has to worry about the whole team, you want somebody who can take a holistic view of the team.

This is where I think NFL has hit a problem with Hiring HCs, people are chasing coordinators and the only way they can get them for the most part is giving them HC jobs when they probably aren't ready for or suited to the role.

The best news has been seeing that Wade Phillips is likely out in Denver.

That's huge.

Yep!.. Let's see, lose HOF QB, go 2 - 4 in division and finish 3rd, miss playoffs after being gifted a SB, hire Joseph as HC and lose Wade Phillips as DC in the process. AWESOME YEAR BRONCOS! ROFL

Yeah it is. Wade's defenses have been money, no matter where he's coached in the league, and they basically won Denver the title last year. Thanks, Elway!

I wonder if he got pissed that he wasn't in contention for the head coaching gig and asked for his release?

Hopefully they switch back to 4-3, and Von Douche gets smashed every ****ing down.

Joseph has run both 4-3 and 3-4 defenses before. He may be dumb enough to go back to the 4-3....but who knows.

This is true. Fox to Kubiak to Joseph is just a bunch of noise. The only things that have mattered in Denver are 1) elite QB play and/or 2) elite defense. Now they don't have prime Manning and with no Phillips, maybe that D takes a big step back, too. He's one of the rare coaches whose impact cannot be denied or argued.

If he did, I would laugh. Hard. That would be epic reeruned.

They should Hire Squirmin Herman Mother****ing Sack of **** Edwards as a consultant to help set up the Tampon 2.

Yeah, exactly right. Just because Kyle can coordinate an Offense doesn't mean he can coach a team. I was intrigued by him but that was the worry. Kind of the same thing with Toub. Toub is obviously an outstanding coach. But I don't know if he has the organizational ability to coach an entire team. So, Vance Joseph is the guy. He hasn't proven anything to me yet so I'm 'meh' about the hire. We'll see what kind of staff he assembles. I'm OK with bringing McCoy in as OC because I see it as a stability move for a new HC. For DC Wade Phillips stated recently that he will 'hopefully' return to the Broncos. Joseph recently stated this:

So retaining Phillips is an ongoing discussion between Elway, Joseph, and Wade himself.

So much win in this post...

Remember how Herm wouldnt touch the offense and "fix" the defense?
