Nice summary as usual George, and yeah it was really surprising how easily Williams was getting chunks of yardage right up the middle of their defense. He's got good patience and a good burst. He's really stepped up for us. So has Ward on D.

Mahomes sure is a nice tonic for that feeling of impending doom that one gets after a few decades of watching this team. He's a franchise-changing, once-in-a-lifetime type QB.

2 more wins and...wow.

This is so amazing! Thanks for posting this Clay, and thanks to you George as well, for being so die hard!

Thank you George. I even yelled a little here at home. :)

True dat. He did yeoman's work. The touchdown where his cut made two Colts collide with each other were an homage to Dante Hall.

The monkey on our backs has been spanked. Some Native Americans were out on the field before kickoff blessing the field. Will Shields was on drum duty. I promised my friend Gary I would fart on third down to help with crowd noise. Mission Accomplished.
LMAO

If you don't like George's 10 things you can suck it.

Just got back to Iowa, good read! That was a complete team victory. I couldn't believe how cocky the Colts fans were before the game. I also couldn't believe how it got fairly mild right at kickoff.

Thanks so much for posting. I stayed up to read it and it delivered like always. What a day

I’m old, and I yelled at Stabler, and Fouts, and Elway, and Marino, and Five Head, and Flacco, and others and other and others. I don't have the voice for it anymore. Today in the second half I yelled like when I was 20. And when they actually won a home playoff game for the first time in 25 years I cried.

Now I want to cry. :deevee::clap:

Today was deeply personal. For all of us. We all remember the people and things in our lives that have intersected with the Chiefs failures of the past.

Today was the first time we were given the tools to move forward.

Thanks for a wonderful write-up, George. You deserve today as much as anyone and I hope you sleep peacefully. Boulevard Wheats dancing in your dreams.

Cheers, buddy. We did it.

Hey George,

One thing you didn't mention was on our first TD drive. Some idiot was throwing snowballs and the refs went over to warn Andy- (of a possible penalty on us for fan conduct??) But anyway... Andy went nuclear.

He went marching down the line and yelled up at the crowd to knock that shit off. I havn't seen him so mad.

Andy was fired up and so were the Chiefs. I am sure they were as tired as us about hearing how unbeatable the Colts are.

Considering we are about the same age & have been through the great & heartbreaking with this team...it warms my heart to read your ten things George.

Next weekend will be epic.

I just want to say thank you for your game summaries. I pretty much read the comment threads and never post, but I really appreciate your write-ups. I was 13 years old the last time the Chiefs were in the Super Bowl. It's been a long drought. I kinda thought I would never see them return to the Super Bowl in my lifetime. Something akin to the Chicago Cubs of football. But maybe there's a chance to end the ultimate drought.

I loved the distribution of touches in todays game. it seemed Vermeil-esque. I hope Reid will stay committed to the run

It was too cold and sloppy to take a lot of pictures, but I did take some. Here's a few:
