I just saw Curtis yesterday with his wife Dee. I told him about this discussion, and that Tamba had a new CD out that used auto tune. "I'll bet you don't do that auto tune stuff, right Curtis?" I asked him. He just grinned. He's a super nice guy. It was great to see him again.

Autotune is a legitimate stylistic choice. It went out of fashion a while ago, but there's nothing inherently bad about using it to achieve a certain aesthetic effect. It wouldn't make sense for Curtis to use it as his genre is totally different. He does sound nice though!!!

I mean he makes Dance Hall music. Absolutely no one on Chiefs Planet is going to like that genre lmao.

But generally it's not bad for his first. Just sounds like a cookie cutter album and at least it's not hot trash.
