Based on what?

Pierre-Louis is no more an NFL linebacker than DJ Alexander is. Neither guy has proven they can play at this level, let alone start. So if they're rotational ILBs, they're little more than special teams players.

And if that's the case, Alexanders the better guy to keep, if for no other reason than his familiarity with the system.

This move makes zero sense on the surface. There has to be more to the story.

With DJ, Mauga, March, Wilson, and now Eligwe -- there's just little chance Alexander could have made this team.

So he's listed as OLB but was he drafted by Carroll as a potential replacement to Bruce Irvin as more of a hybrid linebacker?

Will Tamba be traded? I doubt it. But maybe this dude can play ILB...

4.51 speed at the combine. He can certainly keep up with Tight ends.

He played on the edge in that Irvin type of position in Seattle. I'd guess he is here to play OLB.
