Villanova is still going to win but it's amazing what can happen when your team actually defensively executes a good game plan and doesn't over-help on defense and double the post for no reason.

All the bigs shoot in Europe too. Don't see that ending well for him either unless he's content sitting on a pro team's bench for his entire career.

4-13 in the half. Over 1/2 those were wide open looks. So I call BS on KU defense just sucked.

They took 26 threes in the first half against Kansas. First half. The problem was always the volume and KU letting them do it.

I’d listen to an argument that Coach K or Roy Williams are better coaches than Self. IMHO, Self is the best coach in college BB. As proof look at what he did this year with the worst talent he has had in awhile.
He has more titles than Self and a less prestigious school and .717 win % that's really ****ing good. Villanova is going to be pretty good again next year too.

Even with all that legitmate good stats, if a college BB school had a choice to hire Self or Wright, what % of schools would take Wright over Self?

Who knows? Self is a HOF coach but wright just won another title and beat every team in the tournament by double digits. Some good teams too. The man is very underrated.

Oh, KU's defense sucked, no doubt about it... Michigan actually provided some resistance, but in the end it still didn't matter.

KU is preseason #1 in pretty much every early top 25 for next year. ESPN, CBS Sports, Sporting News, etc.

Zero, zilch, none.

ETA: If Wright keeps this up for the next five years, that would change to 100% of schools taking Wright over Self. Wright's success is pretty recent.

Just mind boggling to me. There is a possibility that the best guy we return is Mitch Lightfoot. (yes I realize we have transfers and freshman coming in)

I think probably 25% chance we lose not only Newman, but Vick and Udoka as well.
